Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Just come back from a 4 night stay and want to go back already . St James hotel was welcoming and comfy . The owners were lovely nothing was to much trouble , they Evan let my 5 yr old son feed their fish which he loved . Breakfast was spot on and served hot and by the lovely john that was also very friendly and helpful . If you stop over I advice you get a tram pass , Blackpool is your oyster then , we did and loved every 11 miles of the fab sea shore . All in all a fab stay at a fab hotel

This hotel is small and lovely, purple who run it are very nice, we had room seven which is a family room for four people, although we wetter three, my many wife and daughter with two double beds en suite bathroom and a huge bay window looking out over the promenade and sea, there is a bar downstairs, and the hotel is just five or ten minutes walk from the North pier, lovely location, breakfast was plentiful, choice of cereal then cooked breakfast, very nice comfy place will book again 😀

Lovely homely feel at this hotel, hotel decor is dated but more than sufficient. Location is great, a stones throw from south peir (sandcastle water park ext.) Very kind and tentative staff, lovely seating area for night time drinks. 1£ drinks menu full of most beers and spirits! Great for a short stay. Only negative is size of en suite. Would recommend.

Our stay was brilliant. Early check in wasn't a issue as the room was already ready. A brilliant welcome from hosts. We received some great information on things to do and the tram prices etc. Breakfast was included in the price and we couldn't ask for more for the money we paid. The room was just what we needed with an ensuite bathroom. Overall a brilliant stay and will defiantly be back. Would highly recommend.

Arrived an hour earlier than check in time no problem rooms were ready and we were made to feel very welcome.Rooms were lovely and clean and had been given a homely touch. We were only there 2 nights but would definitely use again as it was only a short walk along prom to north pier.Breakfast was very good and served piping hot.

Does exactly what it says on the tin!!! Cheap and cheerful. Nice couple, but only seen them at breakfast. Nice location. Basic amenities, but ok for the money. Don't honestly think we will go back though as there are a lot better hotels in Blackpool.

Visited for Mother's Day Weekend for a cabaret weekend. Hilary and Stuart are great hosts with family members providing superb service in restaurant and bar not forgetting Diane for hosting the two evening's cabaret when both acts were superb. Ideal location on North Promenade.

It was in a nice location but the bar was never open unless you rang a bell . The breakfast was ok . The combination lock on the front door was a bit of a nightmare everytime you came back , and the stairs leading up to it were quite steep not very good if you had a pushchair , especially when you are trying to punch the door number in , while holding onto the pushchair as there was no landing there
