Just returned from staying at the Firgarth, can only re-iterate what other reviews have said. Spotlessly clean, great, friendly hosts, cracking breakfast. Lovely comfy king sized bed. Wouldn't hesitate to return.

The Firgarth Guest House is an outstanding place to stay – lovely bedrooms (spotlessly clean), lovely atmosphere and lovely location. Windermere and Ambleside are just a short walk away, and Orrest Head (which is just on the doorstep) is well worth the short climb with lovely views of Lake Windermere and the Coniston fells at the top. Pam and Colin...

We stayed for 3 nights and had an exceptional. Pam is delightful and very well suited to hosting people at Firgarth. During our welcome cup of tea, she inquired about our interest and made suggestions all of which turned out to be spot on. Pam and her partner cooked top quality breakfasts and the rooms were clean well appointed, quiet...

I Booked this B+B for my wife's Birthday, and I was not disappointed one bit! The service was amazing, The room was clean and cosy, even with the room next to the main road, you can not hear the traffic at all. The breakfast was tasty with vegetarian options to suit my wife. The owners even got my wife a...

I'd picked Firgarth primarily because it offered a single room with a double bed in (quite a rarity), and as I was staying 4 nights I wanted some comfort - and single rooms can sometimes be rather cramped. I couldn't have picked a better place. Pam was very welcoming, and had agreed in advance that I could leave my luggage...

I have to agree with previous reviewers, this place is excellent - Pam welcomed us with tea and biscuits before showing us to our spotless rooms. I have stayed in 16 different B&Bs this year, this is one of the best. After a day's walking the shower was clean, hot and well stocked with good towels and shampoos etc. Breakfasts...

We chose the Firgarth based on the previous good reviews, and I thought it can't be as perfect as people say, however I am struggling to think of negatives! We stayed in the four poster room and the quality of everything was breathtaking, beautiful hardwood furniture, sumptuous curtains, comfy mattress, soft sheets. Beautiful bay window and comfortable chairs. Powerful shower,...

This is a super little Bed and Breakfast. Rooms are spotless, and whilst we stayed in what was supposed to be a 'small double', everything was tucked away and very well planned, so we didn't feel that we were in a small room. Listing the room as a 'small double' seems to be underselling what was a perfectly sized room,...
