The wife and I are seasoned travellers. We’re also very regular annual visitors to the Lake District- undoubtedly one of our favourite locations to holiday. We never stay in the same place twice, deliberately.
This place charged us nearly £450 for a 3 night stay....More

Tip: Book early and directly with them for a great price.

Sorry, only just seen this question and I think it may be too late for your visit, but may be useful to others. Windermere is now a decent night out thanks to several new café cars opening. I'd recommend the Crafty Baa in Windermere, Café Italia, The Pig, Cantina (Italian), Lighthouse (Mediterranean), also the Lamplighter now has a nice bar area, also Fodder, good choice of draft beers. In bowness Bodegas is great for Tapas upstairs with a lively bar downstairs, Villa Positana is a lovely rustic Italian, Flying Pig, Arts Bar, Baha are all new bars with fod down there. Overall, I think the restaurants in the area are all of a good standard, and overall I don't rate the pub food, but The Hole in T'Wall is a worthy exception.
