Paul and Sue were very welcoming and friendly, the warmth was felt the minute we stepped through the door. The room was spotless, clean and cosy. Everything you needed was provided. The breakfast was delicious and very tasty. We will definitely be choosing Montfort Cottage again - it was a short walk into Windermere and a slightly longer walk to... More

The b+b is well placed and is just a short walk to both Windermere and Bowness, and a short drive to most attractions and places of interest. There is plenty of free parking on the street outside and the breakfast is a great start to the day and the owners are happy to cook the breakfast to your liking. All... More

We stayed for three nights and couldn't have been made to feel more welcome. We were in the Windermere room which was clean and spacious with an extremely comfortable bed; it would have been ideal for a longer stay as it was well equipped with iron, ironing board and some good storage. The breakfast was delicious, with a good level... More

Thankyou Sue and Paul for our stay this week. We have had a really comfortable break in your beautiful guest house. We stayed in the Windermere room and have no complaints. It was arranged to celebrate my Fiancé Derek's 50 th Birthday and a couple of extra touches were so lovely. I asked for prosecco and chocolates which you arranged... More

This B&B is ideally situated between Windermere and Bowness with only a few minutes walk away from both. It has free parking on the road outside, is clean and comfortable place to stay and a great breakfast as well. The hosts Paul and Sue are very welcoming and I would thoroughly recommend Montfort Cottage.

Well what can I say. Stayed here bank holiday weekend as a surprise visit for my girlfriend to Windermere. Montfort Cottage was the idyllic base to feed our adventures and rest our weary heads. Firstly I need to tell you that Sue and Paul (the owners) are truly first rate, friendly, warm and very happy to go that extra yard.... More

We came for a four day break in the Lakes, and after discovering the Montfort and reading the reviews, booked the Grasmere room in advance. We were greeted by Sue, a lovely lady, with a very warm welcome. Our room was spotlessly clean, a nice touch was a portion of Kendal Mint Cake for that lovely Lake District welcome. The... More

Stayed for two nights on a weekend away, perfect find! Sue and Paul were lovely and very friendly. The room (Windermere) was beautifully presented with a super size king bed which was very comfortable. Although the room overlooked the primary school opposite there were still views of the hills and countryside. Breakfast in the mornings was simple to arrange and... More

This b n b is in a good location between the upper and lower parts of town. Easy to park outside. Rooms and bathroom are a little small. Poky rather than bijou. Furnishings are comfy though. Breakfast was very good with a choice of tasty well cooked mains. More fruit would be welcome. The overall experience is better value for... More
