My partner & I stayed here for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Heather & Nigel are great hosts and couldn't do enough for us. We had room 1 on the ground floor, which was very comfortable, stylish and inviting, with little extra's thrown in. There is ample parking for guests. The Chestnuts is located off the main road...

It is a nice place with well kept rooms. The reception was warm. Breakfast is good. It is a 15 minute walk to the lake. If I visit Windermere again, I will definitely be here for my stay. The facilities in the room are good. The host is very hospitable and I felt at home. Strongly recommended.

Just returned from a two night stay at the Chestnuts and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. My partner and I very much enjoyed staying here. We preferred a room on the ground floor and I think their best room in on the ground floor - enough space for a 4 poster, 2 chairs and a spacious bathroom with corner bath. We were made very welcome and such a nice touch to have tea and cake offered...

Between Bowness and Windermere this excellent guest house is clean, beautifully renovated and very welcoming. Breakfast is deliciously home cooked and there is an obvious attention to detail. A top quality guest house in a beautiful area of the Lakes District.
