Stayed here for my dads wedding. He hired the whole place out so we had the wedding onsite, the reception, an amazing wedding breakfast and casino on the evening. Service was excellent, rooms are huge and food is of excellent standard! Would love to go back!

A visit to The Samling is a must. It is the jewel in the crown of the Lake District. Unlike many top hotels, the atmosphere is not at all stuffy. Alasdair, the General Manager, is most welcoming and makes you feel at ease with his relaxed approach. Our suite was wonderful, with views down the Lake. Dinner was superb and...

We only went for lunch at the restaurant and did not stay at the hotel. Absolutely great experience and highly recommendable. Food and wine indeed excellent. Service very good as well and last but not least beautiful place. Very well deserved Michelin star. Best value for money of any Michelin restaurants we have ever tried.

The Samling is a boutique hotel with 11 rooms. We were delighted to discover we had been upgraded to a junior suite on arrival. Our room was beautiful with stunning views towards lake Windermere. Because we were upgraded to a suite we were also upgraded to the 'prestige' tasting menu. Canapés were served prior to being seated in the dining...

As a gift, we were presented with an overnight stay and the full Tasting Menu. Our accommodation was a beautiful apartment just a few steps from the Main Building. The tasteful décor was very pleasing, with excellent lounge area, bedroom and fantastic bathroom. To add to our pleasure, we overlooked Lake Windermere. The evening meal was 'Just Something Else'. It...

Enjoyed a one night stay at this beautiful hotel. Location is excellent; perched high on a hillside overlooking Windermere, just off the main 'A' road between Windermere and Ambleside. Its a beautiful small country house hotel, with 5 rooms in the main building, and 6 separate outside suites which are all adjacent to the main building. Our suite was absolutely...

It's not the first time we have stayed at The Samling but it's our first review. This is a lovely place to stay and enjoy delicious food in comfortable surroundings. We stayed in Tethera which is in the main house with fantastic views of Lake Windermere. Despite the classic Lakes weather (torrential rain) we braved a trip to the hot...

My family booked this hotel for my birthday. We stayed here for one night. Jack, the manager was extremely helpful from the the time I drove in. He took all our luggage to the room, and parked the car too. The room was large with a lounge and fantastic view of the lakes. The bath room was large and well...

Stayed overnight on 5th March in room with view down Lake Windermere. From the moment we arrived the service was exemplary. The room, Tyan , was superb and had all that you could need for a very comfortable stay. We had the seven course taster menu which was a superb experience, with high quality cooking with a touch of theatre...
