Went to our favourite place The Lake District for four day break. Hotel very nice, room with a wonderful view. Restaurant very nice except the menu only has 4 starters, 4mains and 4 desserts. If you were there too long it would be boring especially as I only eat fish so limited to 2 choices on starter and main. The...

We spent a couple of days at Miller Howe celebrating my 60th Birthday and our joint retirement. We booked the cottage which is adjacent to the main building. This was a good choice as it was very spacious. The decor was a little tired but apart from that it is comfortable and has a very good bathroom. The highlight of...

the hotel is a lovely country house, having stayed here many times (and miss the John Tovey era) the package of Dinner bed and breakfast was incredible value. the rooms are simple, ours had a new bathroom which was very good, unfortunately the room our friends were in only had a plunge/hip bath. the views are stunning, the evening meal...

Stayed at the Miller Howe on a cold and rainy February weekend. We booked the cottage which is a short walk from the main hotel - it was delightful. Really cosy. Hotel itself was lovely and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was beautifully presented - perhaps there might have been just a little more of it. Breakfast...

The first thing I felt as I entered Miller Howe was the warmth from a brightly burning fire. Miller Howe is a unique Lakeland hotel of great charm. From the moment I entered the hotel I knew that this stay would be even better than on my 2012 visit.. I was given a warm welcome by James at the front...

We've just returned from a two-night break at Miller Howe, having previously stayed there 8 years ago. The hotel was just as we'd remembered - lovely rooms, classically decorated with comfy beds and crisp white linen. There are also some really interesting paintings on the walls for art lovers. The views from the hotel are stunning and we enjoyed a...

Having just returned from a 2 night stay at The Miller Howe I have nothing but praise. Everything is first class, from the greeting when you arrive, to the size, quality and cleanliness of the rooms, to the fabulous food and drink. The hotel is in a beautiful location, a bit of walk into Bowness but a fairly cheap taxi...

My partner treated me to a valentines weekend away . We usually stay at a place on Grassmere but thought we'd try somewhere different . It did not disappoint. The room was homely with a beautiful bathroom and an even more stunning view . The staff were wonderful ! Food was 1st class and great value for money , I...

Autumn 2016 was glorious with all shades of red and gold to be seen in the beautiful Lake District. What a pity our chosen hotel was such a disappointment. Our room with a view had a very ancient oak obscuring any hidden view of Lake Windermere. The bed was twin beds joined together hence a very noticeable dip in the...
