I found the deal through travel zoo, as I wanted to treat my sister for her birthday. £59 for 2x 25min spa treatment, hot tub and afternoon tea was very good value for money. The hotel itself was simply beautiful. We had the most glorious weather to enjoy it in its full glory. The views are magnificently breathtaking, and we...

We stayed for one night in the Jemima Puddle duck suite (lodge 5).There was an initial problem with the door key & we had to wait a little while before we entered our room, but we were served a complimentary cup of tea whilst we waited. The suite was wonderful, spacious, clean & has the most amazing views of the...

Firstly, the food at Holdback Ghyll is wonderful. Beautifully presented in a charming setting. Portion sizes are just right and the wine list is great. If this review was based on the restaurant alone then I would give them 5 stars. The Italian waiter was so charming - a real credit to the restaurant. However that's where the good marks...

This is a beautiful place but I would not recommend afternoon tea. You are plonked in a tiny lounge with a table (wonky in our case) and with loads of other people awkwardly on top of each other. The afternoon tea is not the best and I note they've dropped the price. The staff are all smiles. That don't reach...

My daughter and I also took advantage of the afternoon tea and spa offer and it was excellent value for money. We both had the salt and oil body scrub- a first for both of us then I had the facial and she had a back massage. I would put my treatments in my top three as my therapist was...

We took advantage of an offer of two spa treatments, use of the hot tub and afternoon tea at this hotel. My sister and I both agreed it was the best facial and spa experience we have had. The staff in the spa were lovely and very friendly, we both had a facial and then a salt body scrub, by...

Stayed with family, for 60th birtyday celebrations in one of the beautiful houses, in the grounds of the hotel. Staff at hotel were amazing, got dropped of at hotel, by taxicab, by mistake. Manager on reception, took us down to our house, without any asking. A good start to the experience. House excellent, 4 beautiful large ensuite double rooms.

If it were all about the location the hotel would be overall 5 but it is not. The hotel is set back up a quiet road from the lake but the views from the front of the hotel take in the lake and surrounding mountains. Beautiful. The main building has a warm welcoming feel. The exterior is typical stone building...

This is a beautifully located hotel. It looks the part. All the hardware is in place. Stunning views, lovely large room with slight view of the lake. All good. But sadly the service is insincere, not genuine smiles, no customer focus. The place is clearly understaffed and the staff they have seem to be very put upon if you ask...

We got married here in 2012 and go back every year, the place is truly amazing. Just on the hills over looking lake Windermere they can arrange any trip you would like. The food is a must and once you have been you will want to go again
