We stopped here after a walk for the most amazing Afternoon Tea. It was completely indulgent and delicious. Service was prompt and the lounge area was comfy and relaxing, we had a dog with us who was allowed into the lounge. We can't wait to visit again!

This hotel is in great location with a great walk at its back door. The staff are always friendly and helpful. For us the food is number one, fantastic specialist in steak especially the home smoked steaks. All washed down with their own beers for the on site brewery, the "Tarty Boar" beer cocktail the favourite of the wife. Look...

I visited here on the way home from a night in Bowness with my partner. We had travelled with the dog and had been recommended by some friends to stop off and walk the nature trail at The Wild Boar before heading inside for a bite to eat. What a great recommendation! The puppy was welcome inside and we were...

Excellent Sunday lunch in comfortable surroundings with faultless service. Can't wait to go again with other family members. Seating allocated well to suit couples or large family groups with babies. Real fires and comfy seating areas for pre drinks or post coffees. Duck if you're tall, lots of traditional hazards for the high!

We went to The Wild Boar for a Whiskey Tasting Night with Mark from the Glenfiddich Distillery. We enjoyed an excellent meal from The Wild Boars extensive menu cooked onthe grill before joining in with the tasting. It was a very good and interesting evening talking about all things Whiskey. The following day we enjoyed a hearty full English Breakfast...

Another lovely stay here. Stayed a few times but first time in two years. Had a great time and noticed a few improvements on before. Room 33 very nice, clean, spacious with a good view. The bar and lounge are just fab, very cosy and multi purpose which is great if you want to eat or drink ad hoc. Restaurant...

Popped in recently with my good friends Ashley and Char, the latter having puffed and wheezed over nearby Brant Fell. I opted for a liquid lunch which consisted of two pints of a lovely local ale, whilst my dining companions greedily polished off a delicious 28 hung roast beef (despite having inhaled a full English only hours before). A lovely...

I have looked at The Wild Boar's website hundreds of time - so felt it was time to go. Four members of the team (Guiliano, Luckasz, Nikola, Mhairi) and I went for dinner. Guiliano and Nikola had the Duo of fillet steak - one of which was smoked from their own smokehouse; Luckasz had the pheasant breast stuffed with venison...

Just come back from a 2 night stay back in middle of January. So many great things about this hotel, but the food and the staff are what I would highlight. On arrival, a lovely warm greeting from Alin and Emma. Due to the bad weather, the electricity had been knocked out in our wing. Staff organised some complimentary food...
