Stayed one night. Glad it was only one night. Staff were friendly, did their job but not a sign of any management. Kitchen was closed so we had one night on a room only basis costing £100. The room was spacious but all the furniture is really old. The bathroom was ok, it served its purpose. So, we come to...

A dog friendly pub with really nice staff offering a good selection of beers and alcoholic drinks. Open fire and comfortable. Didn't eat here, but from what we saw being brought out for other patrons it smelt and looked very good.

Breakfast was very poor, nearly 30 minutes before anybody came to take our order and when it did come it was cold and poorly cooked and not what we asked for. The bar down stairs is very loud and does not shut till 3am, so if you want a good nights sleep go elsewhere. The hotel did not have enough...

Very friendly staff, nice surroundings, thought it would be OK as we'd stayed before but food was poor. Steak raw, sent back and very quickly re cooked but second time still tough. Sweet potato fries were divine. Very difficult to find good steak in this country! Go here for drinks and fun but choose menu options carefully!

I stayed here with my mum 2nd December for 1night. We arrived too early to check in so decided to have some food whilst sitting by the log burner. The bar women told us that they did sandwiches so that's what we had. These did take a while however when they arrived with a huge bowl of chips they were...

Not much choice for a reasonably priced supper in Windermere in November. Our favourite pub had kitchen problems. Although the guy behind the bar was very personable, the overall atmosphere was decideably dreary with garish videos showing on the big screen. We ordered the Cumberland sausage and mash and the scampi and chips. The former was quite bland and the...

I stayed here with my Mum for three nights, from 25th-28th October. We loved our stay here. The room was lovely, beds very comfortable and the staff were very friendly. The breakfast was nice and the staff always made us feel welcome. The location is also fantastic. We would definitely stay here again.
