A group of ten of us visited here on Thursday 3rd March for dinner. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Chicken pie (‘homemade’) accompanied by crispy, tasty chips and good, no nonsense, vegetables: broccoli, cauliflower and carrots done to a tee - (i.e. very slightly al-dente) Compliments to the chef! We were served by a very pleasant blond-haired girl she was...

This is a place I have visited many times over the last thirty five years and I have seen many changes. Mostly they have been for the better but on my most recent visit I was very disappointed to find that this Jennings branded establishment (although part of the Marstons group) had done away with Jennings bitter and replaced it...

Stopped here for a night to break our journey. This is our second time staying here & we were in the same room. Comfortable bed & room & bathroom clean but could do with a bit TLC ie toilet roll holder loose & bathroom door sticking a bit. However we ate dinner in the hotel & it was delicious &...

We stopped in here for a light bite to eat, nice food and they allow dogs which is a bonus. Penrith castle ruins can be seen from the pub window. Recommend place that has accommodation and plenty of parking outside Morrisons is just opposite so easy for shopping

Ate here on Saturday 18 July 2015 as a family. Surprised to find very good quality food and fresh. Steak and Ale pie served in individual portions, veg and french fries, A lamb shank slow cooked to perfection and teryaki salmon with fried noodles. All attractively served and delicious. Along with an excellent local ale called 49er, the bill came...

Together with three others, I visited in late May. Staff were friendly and we booked for an evening meal. We chose our meals from a blackboard listing specials. They arrived promptly, but we had to return one meal to the kitchen as it did not agree with what was shown on the board, and contained ingredients which were not suited...

We called for a pint during our weekend in Penrith but were disappointed when we went inside. It is fairly run down and could do with a spring clean. There is lots of potential here but it felt worn and faded. The menus had stickers all over them showing changed prices and looked unprofessional.

Came off the M6 into Penrith on a drive North in order to find somewhere for lunch, rather than eating at a motorway service station. Driving through Penrith we spotted this place adjacent to a Morrison's supermarket. There is parking immediately in front of the hotel, but if you miss it you could use Morrison's. It was a lovely day...

Yesterday, April 1st 2015, we visited The Agricultural Hotel in Penrith for a late lunch. Having checked out the reviews which were mostly favourable, my first impression was that this was a lot smaller than it looked from the outside. The eating area was closed leaving only a very basic bar area open for use. We chose the steak and...
