Time to kill for my pre booked train travel south. The Agricultural is the nearest pub in view from the station so I thought, why not ? Lamb Henry as it was called was a massive tender lamb shank (£13.95) and worth every penny.Served with loads of mash and veg plus lots of gravy.Perfect on an April day that produced horizontal sleet...

Staying in the area on the way home from Scotland. We fancied some pub grub. The Agricultural was recommended and did not disappoint. The steak and ale pie was excellent. The accompanying vegetables were cooked to perfection (ever so slightly al dente) and the chips first rate. Would certainly call again. Apparently Barry Manilow calls in and who can blame...

The prices do not reflect well with the style of the pub. Too expensive. I can only describe the food as very basic. Fish & Chips...the fish was below average, not flaky & the batter was hard and solid. Sticky toffee pudding....seemed like it was made with oil...alot of oil, the bowl so stone cold. If the prices were cheaper,...

The service was very good and food brought to our table promptly after order. I had the steak pie which was a good portion size and very tasty. This was our second visit to...

On our way home from Scotland recently we decided we wanted a real meal instead of the motorway fare. We came off the M6 at Penrith and found this gem. The food was excellent with good sized portions of fresh vegetables and well cooked meat. This will be a location we visit again and will remember to book as it's...

We were looking for somewhere to have a night out with some friends as a leaving party and someone suggested this place. We visited about a week before and as soon as we walked in we knew it would be great and we were right. We booked it again for the next week and took our group of friends. The...

Service with a smile the whole visit. Lovely and cosy inside albeit maybe needing slight refurb. Lovely, lovely food and very reasonable prices. Will definitely...
