The George Hotel was a true festive treat, it really gave you a sense of Christmas. Warm and cozy with the amazing glowing fire. The food was lovely. This was both for breakfast and dinner. The rooms were clean and warm (19) was my favourite. I know I had room 20 ( the 4 poster) and the team took great...

A lovely overnight stay. All the staff were extremely friendly and polite and could not do enough for you. The Christmas decorations gave it a lovely feel, they are beautiful. Room was warm and comfortable with a lovely large bathroom. We were at the back of the hotel and not a sound could be heard which was great, a great...

It was our anniversary and as we had visited other hotels in this group we thought we would try The George, Penrith. Lovely bedroom, very large, and clean and bright ensuite. Beds very comfortable and we were at the back of the hotel which I think may be quieter as the hotel is on a busy main road. However, we...

A good stay at the George, with welcoming staff and an excellent breakfast! The hotel was always bustling with people enjoying dinner, coffee etc, although we didn't eat an evening meal here. Dedicated car park for the hotel was also a great bonus, so no struggling to park when arriving late evening.

Me my husband and two kids visited the George hotel for lunch on Sunday. It was our first visit and we loved it. At the moment the hotel is super Christmassy and myself and my husband chose off the Christmas themed menu. The children chose off the kids menu and I was really happy with the quality of the food....

This is the fifth time we have visited which says something in itself. The hotel has a warm friendly atmosphere, the rooms are well appointed, a good nights sleep despite the early morning call from adjacent rooms' pluming. Breakfasts were all you would expect (except an inedible cheese omelet) if a little disorganised when the friendly, good humoured, lady in...

This was our 3rd visit this year. Loved our stay over night again. Room clean and warm. Lots of tea, coffee, milk & biscuits. Very welcoming after the heavy rain we had been out in all day. All staff are a credit to this hotel. We always feel happy when we stay here, it's so cosy . My husband loves all his...

Recommended by staff in a local shop. Love the revolving doors on entering. As we wanted to sit at a table for a meal rather than a light lunch on our knees in the sofa area, the waitress suggested we went through to the bar section. The barman was great, couldn,t do enough for us or any of the other...
