Immediately upon check in we were greeted by the owner of the hotel. She showed us around and took us to our rooms, beautiful rooms, very clean and comfortable. Only complaint was the pillows but that's personal preference. Breakfast was excellent, and we enjoyed the stay. It was just a 5 min walk to the centre of town nice and...

This place is wonderful. Very clean, very modern. The owners are friendly, informative and made us and our children more than welcome. The rooms were as we requested and vary comfortable. The breakfast was lovely and the choice was both good and unusual. Any questions we asked we the right information. This place helped make our holiday a little better....

Second visit to the Ashberry and again a really pleasant experience. Warm welcome from our hosts, and,as previously, nothing too much trouble. Great breakfast and immaculate spacious room (room 6). Parking available if needed. Highly recommend, thank you.

We have just got back from a weekend away, I chose this place to stay as we wanted to be walking distance from the town centre and this place was perfect. Off street parking (RARE in Penrith), close to restaurants, fantastic breakfast, immaculate rooms and a comfortable living room to relax in if you like. Perfect. I've stayed in 6 guest houses in Penrith over time and this is head & shoulders above the rest.

This was a stopover for us on the way to Scotland. Despite being by a busy road we wished we had stayed here. It is lovely. A lovely welcome and nothing is too much. The rooms are fresh, comfortable and spotless and there is everything you need in them. They are not huge but there is enough space. The breakfasts...

The attention to detail evident in this guest house is impressive and superior to most hotels. Examples in our room were four glass tumblers, large mugs for tea, proper coat-hangers (not the annoying anti-theft ones) in a large wardrobe, a tray for muddy boots, two mirrors, a desk reading lamp and a good hair dryer. Our room 3 was clean,...

I stayed hear many times when working at a local office in the area. This guesthouse is a gem, firstly Phil and Vanda are just fantastic. Its so nice to arrive and have a friendly chat with someone rather than just getting the key from the normal robot on reception. I have stayed in every room in this guesthouse over...

We stayed here on our way up to Scotland. What a wonderful start to our holiday. Nothing was too much trouble for Phil and his wife and we felt like "friends" rather than guests. The bedrooms were beautifully appointed, spotless and the bed so comfortable. The breakfast was scrummy and we didn't really want to leave. One night wasn't long...

This stylish but down-to-earth b&b ticked all our important boxes: competitively-priced, sparklingly clean, smartly furnished, comfortable bed, quiet room, warm, unpretentious and convenient for both town centre and access to the Lakes. The range of cereals and beverages available for breakfast was huge, the cooked food excellent and the service nothing short of exceptional. But what really blew us away...
