Following reading the amazing reviews on Lowthwaite B&B my partner and I decided to book a four night stay. We have to say we were not disappointed at all and Tine and Jim are superb hosts. From the moment I made the initial enquiry I was impressed with the professionalism of Tine. She provided us with email updates and the...

We arrived excited, having read all the reports about how wonderful Lowthwaite B&B is, to find two homemade muffins, which we had been looking forward to trying at breakfast, already in the room awaiting us. And they didn't disappoint. We had been warned about the difficulty of locating the B&B but with a good satnav, it is no problem at...

This is our third stay with Tine and Jim. They are so warm and welcoming and take a genuine interest in their guests. Nothing is too much trouble. The food is wonderful with the breakfasts being a highlight. It's off the main tourist route but within easy reach of all the fells. Truly a delight to return

I stayed at the Blencathra room, it is a very special room, with the characteristics of a suite. There is a downstairs sleeping area in the old tractor shed, and an upstairs sitting area and bathrom in the hayloft. It is perfect for either a couple or two friends. The room was lovely decorated and cosy. All was clean and...

Shared last weekend at Tine and Jim's place with a group of friends. In common with many of the reviews that we've read, we can't fault any aspect of our hosts' hospitality. From the initial welcome, to Jim's sprint down the drive to avoid me leaving my iPhone connector on our departure, the attention to detail was staggering. The choice...

What a wonderful place to stay... the pheasant wandered past our room, the birds were always feeding outside our window and our hosts made sure that we made the very best of our time in the Lakes District. Each day, over breakfast, Tine and Jim would discuss what we could do and how to do it. They are both hugely...

One of the best stays I have had anywhere. Wonderful, cozy and private room with two single beds and a very nice bathroom. I stayed four nights and the only disappointment was having to leave early Friday morning and miss one of Tine's breakfasts! I will dream about the food! Full cold buffet with granola, yogurt, raisins, nuts, stewed fruit,...

We stayed at Lowthwaite a couple of years ago and rated it highly. - It hasn't changed. True, it is disappearing into the undergrowth, but once inside it is all good and standards are high. There is nothing critical to say at all, we particularly like the way that all the guest rooms are separate from the owners part of...

Very clean, good quality accomodation with excellent food. Would recommend for a peaceful stay. Beds were excellent and bathroom very clean with everything you need when travelling. Gardens very overgrown blocking views if you expect to see one. However at least the birds don't wake you up at 4am by nesting in the overgrow garden just outside the window. Host...
