Where do I start?.... after a lovely walk at Airaforce waterfalls nearby we arrived at the inn, soggy dog and child in tow......such a lovely warm welcome from the young lad working there. Fires were burning bright and warm in the main room, plenty to explore, traditional bar games, family games, a village shop, lovely friendly staff that really rub...

We booked Christmas Day Lunch here as it was close to the cottage we rented for a few days and more importantly, it was dog friendly. It is, as mentioned in previous reviews 'quirky" and well worth a visit. Christmas lunch was amazing and we were well looked after by Jo, Shaun and the team. They even gave Myla the...

Stayed for one night in December 2016, cosy pub/restaurant which is extremely dog friendly. Food was reasonable and very good. Owner was welcoming. The rooms are cosy too. Definitely recommend a visit.

To say we liked what we saw was a bit of an understament, very spolit for choice. We decided to go...

A party of sixteen of us arrived at the Herdwick Inn at 12:15pm today (29th Dec 2016) for a lunchtime drink during a walk to find it closed ! This is despite all the signs outside saying it opened at 8am and that, moreover, was confirmed by the pub's website which i had consulted before setting out on the walk.....

We have just had a family weekend away and choose the Herdwick for lunch, what an amazing find, full of quirky character, lovely welcome with very friendly staff. The food was faultless and I think I had the best chips I have ever had in my lifetime, there is something for everyone on the menu. Our next visit to the...
