We were in room 4. It was teensy but very neat and clean. Tended to get a little chilly at night. The granola at breakfast was as delicious as all the other reviewers have claimed, and David was very helpful with recommendations for walks and places to eat. Decent selection of DVDs to watch at night. All in all, a...

Just come back from a lovely 2 night break at Oakthwaite House. We booked after reading all the fabulous reviews on TA and can only agree with all the great comments about this B&B. We stayed in room 5 on the top floor - it has a nice light and airy feel, simply decorated and spotless. There are lots of...

Just returned from a second visit to Oakthwaite House in Keswick and again, all aspects of our stay were top notch. This really is a great place to stay and can't be faulted. Unlike many B&Bs, you really feel completely at home and the owners genuinely care about the service they offer. We stayed in Room 3 which is a...

We've just returned from a fabulous weekend on Keswick and stayed here. We had room 4, the dormer room. Whilst it was small it was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Lots of choicesbofvtea and coffee in the room, tv, DVD player with a large choice of DVDs, great ensuite shower, toilletries and chocs on a selection of pillows. David was very...

Just returned from the most wonderful 2 night stay at Oakthwaite House, David met us on arrival and was so helpful with places to visit and good places to eat; he even carried our bags up to the 2nd floor! The room (nr 4) was gorgeous, beautifully decorated and so very clean. In our room we had chocolates and as...

Be Warned B&B's of Keswick, this one is a shining example of how to run a B&B in the 21st Century. You can Tell David & Karen are both Science teachers because there is so much logic to the accommodation, from the Communal fridge in the dining room for guests to leave their food for the following days walking, to...

Oakthwaite House is the perfect B&B. Beautifully decorated rooms, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. David is the perfect host and is very helpful and with Karen the perfect team. The food is excellent & you must try the granola and yoghurt. The house is 5 mins walk from Keswick with plenty of places to eat & drink. Fabulous walks on...

We visited Oakthwaite House for two nights over the weekend, staying in the compact double (room 3). The house is only 5 minutes walk from the centre of Keswick and there was plenty of on street parking available. The room was beautifully decorated, very clean and nice and warm. There were also lots of finishing touches which were appreciated -...

Stayed at Oakthwaite House with my partner for a long weekend, and we couldn't have been made to feel more welcome. Our room (room 4) was spotless and comfortable, with a great view of the fells, the shower was lovely, and it was tastefully decorated. Breakfast was delicious; we tried the granola (very much lives up the hype of previous...

My husband and I stayed 2 nights at Oakthwaite house and were not disappointed. The B&B is located in a very quiet spot in Keswick yet is less than a 5 minute walk to all the pubs and restaurants. Our room was located on the top floor - it was spacious and had everything you could wish for. The bed...
