Myself and my partner stayed here for three nights in August with family and friends and had the whole house to ourselves. We had the superking size room which was lovely and spacious and the standard of accommodation is the best you could possibly expect. Very comfortable beds, the ensuite was great with a lovely large shower, really clean and...

Room was lovely and clean, fab shower and view of Skiddaw. Breakfast was superb and the granola was delicious. Karen and David were great hosts and very familiar with the area. Highly recommended and we hope to go back in October.

Another satisfying stay at Oakthwaite House. We were in a different room to the one we were in on previous visits and were pleasantly surprised. Even though it was a 'compact' room was a charming and clean with great views. Brilliant breakfasts (delicious crepes) and David was able to help us with info on Keswick and ideas and maps for...

Oakthwaite House was within walking distance to Keswick, a delightful village, with a glorious lake (Derwent Water), a wonderful theatre, Lakeside, and mountainous walks all around the lake. We were on the second floor, but our host helped us up with baggage. No comfortable lounge at the end of the day which always adds to a b and b's rating....

David and Karen gave us a very warm welcome, the little extras in the room like the chocolates on arrival, selection of DVDs and goody bag of toiletries just made our stay that little bit more special. The opportunity to talk through our planned walking route each morning was particularly valuable with David's up to date knowledge of routes and...

Lovely clean room with crisp white bed linen and fluffy white towels, the breakfasts were delicious and beautifully presented. David and Karen were most welcoming and really helpful with advice for walking and where to eat. Excellent location, we stayed for 3 nights and only moved the car when we left. Can't wait for a return visit!
