We visited as a group of 18 (10 children, 8 adults). The space is amazing so we never felt on top of one another. 3 living areas, 2 dining areas. Children loved the attic rooms though the configuration & steep steps access may make these rooms unsuitable for small children or adults with mobility issues (& beware of bumping your...

We stayed here with a large family party for the weekend. Although there were eighteen in our party, there was always enough space for everyone and it never felt cluttered. The house itself was fine and although it could do with a bit of decor updating in some parts, it did not spoil our enjoyment. The kitchen area was well...

It is a lovely old turn of the century house originally built in something of the arts and crafts style, with some of the features retained. Unbeatable location, gorgeous gardens but has some seriously grubby bits! The snug second sitting room is very nicely decorated and really nice place to sit and read, the other rooms are fine but shabby...

We took Hazelwood for an extended landmark birthday party. The house served our purpose admirably - the best thing for us was the conservatory which extends the kitchen - a lovely space so that the people cooking / washing up etc remain part of the party. Loads of comfortable sitting space. The dining room works well too as you can...

I believe that recently Hazelwood has changed hands and is now let out as a cottage to rent rather than a B&B. It is rented out through a company called Sally's Cottages (www.sallyscottages.co.uk) I recently took a group of friends to Keswick for some out door activities and a general weekend away. We were blown away to realise that we...

I came up with my girl friend to celebrate her Birthday. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by Helen. Wonderful, helpful hosts. Great service and food was above standard. The rooms were clean and cosy, nice atmosphere, really homely. Just what you want for a trip to the lakes. We will definitely be coming back!

Wheather could have been better, but the house was lovely and warm when you got back. Nice breakfast and friendly couple. Nice pub 5 min down the road called " twa dogs". Good 15 min walk into town, quicker along the railway track. Will return.

I stayed here with my mum for 3 nights in August, midweek. The room was nice, with matching pine furniture, and biscuits! Breakfast was good (a selection of Kellogg's cereals, muesli, orange and apple juice, and a cooked breakfast with a vegetarian option). Helen and Andrew were very friendly and there was a welcoming soft toy on the bed, which...

This was a lovely guest house, the rooms were spacious and quiet with everything you needed. It was a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere and breakfast was lovely with a good choice. It is slightly out of the town but there is a decent carpark and a good base for getting out and about. If we are in the lake...
