The b & b is ideal, in the centre but in a quiet street. Car park with enough spaces. The owner was very welcoming. We stayed for just one night in room 6. Lovely room, clean, nice furnishings and a very comfy bed. We enjoyed a nice Lakeland breakfast, the staff were attentive. Enjoyed our brief stay and would look to return... More

Very good location. A little expensive but we booked last minute and I wasn't paying. Don't get me wrong we were very glad of a couple of nights stay. The attic room we were given was very cosy for a 6 foot 2 man & partner. I like to run my stuff into the ground as much as the next... More

The hotel was lovely and clean, food lovely, though we would've enjoyed more of the cooked breakfast ( or we could just have big appetites!). The owner Janet was really nice and chatty. Hotel was walking distance from the shops, with lovely view of the mountain from our window. Our room had a four poster bed and a lovely fireplace.... More

Stayed here as our son was doing the airman Triathlon, two nights , had the attic double room which was lovely. This b n b is absolutely spotless. Breakfast was lovely with the best selection of fresh fruit I have ever had even in 5 star hotels. Choice of main breakfast we both chose the full English which was delicious.... More

Almost by way of an apology the hotel admitted it allocates it's 'better rooms' to guests who book direct as opposed to online. So having used a well known online booking company for our reservation we consequently found ourselves in an Attic room with a sky light as a window but paying the same price as people who evidently had... My husband and I had a four night stay. Our room had wonderful furniture and clean as could be. The bathroom had handsome fixtures and high end soaps and shampoos. Delicious breakfast included. Options ranged from fresh fruit, juices, yoghurt, honey, jams as well as a full English cooked to perfection by Chris, the chef. The owners Graham and Janet were very helpful and knowledgeable... More

This is mine and my friends 2nd visit to Acorn House, and as before, I can't complain about any aspect of our stay. We had a warm welcome, were shown our room, which was clean, tidy, well-provisioned and decorated tastefully. Staff were warm and friendly throughout our stay. Breakfast at Acorn House is a real positive! A good selection of... More

Me and my partner stayed here a Thursday and Friday evening for a local wedding. We are both 35 and 41 respectively. I have a habit of writing reasonably comprehensive reviews, to give prospective bookers an insight as to what my personal opinions were of such hotels. I aim to be constructive, fair and naturally they will be subjective. This... More

We had a lovely room on the top floor, with gorgeous views. All amenities were provided, comfortable bed and good wifi. Breakfast was simply excellent, and service was with a smile. Acorn House is a 5 minute walk from the centre of town with it's thriving bar and restaurant scene. Free parking was provided. We had a great time in... More
