Stayed for 2 nights mid week and received a friendly welcome. Perfect location in Keswick, no car park but was able to park for free on some back streets otherwise it would have been expensive. Room 12 was cosy and decorated very tastefully. Loved the little extra's-teapot with a sheep cosy and a flask of fresh milk. We ate in...

Have visited the Royal Oak a few times and have never been disappointed. The service, food, atmosphere have been absolutely brilliant. We had Christmas Day lunch there and it was fabulous. So much lovely food. Not rushed, every course was a delight. Such a good atmosphere and plenty of Christmas crackers. Christmas is not Christmas without crackers. So much fun....

We visited here with friends on a cold wet Saturday evening in January. Once inside you forget the weather! It's a lovely cumbrian pub/restaurant. The food was lovely & plenty of choice as I'm a vegetarian. The service was good & staff very approachable & friendly. This is our 2nd visit here after the renovations (the first was Sunday lunch)...

We love Keswick and snow took us for a last minute stop over. We booked a room from the advertised photos and happy with the price. Given helpful phone advice on parking and directions as was arriving late. Greeted by welcoming and helpful staff and a lovely country pub / hotel feel. Happy with our choice, until the room. Damp...

We stayed here over New Year and wish we hadn't bothered. Noisy rooms, unhelpful staff and overpriced. We couldn't get a table for dinner despite staying there. A cracked sink and mould in the bathroom. Management are unhelpful and unwilling to discuss the issues with any view to resolution. Breakfast was very good and it is in an excellent location....

We went into The Royal after a walk round Keswick high street. We were shown to a table in the bar area by a very organised, unsmiling waiter The menus were given to us, and the waiter returned within a reasonable time to take our order The bar staff were unorganised, and although the bar was quiet it took around...

I often visit KESWICK and have stayed and ate at various properties. Yesterday I visited the Royal Oak in Keswick for a meal- I hadn't booked but was welcomed into the very busy pub and allocated a table. The staff were fantastic, very obliging and couldn't do enough for you - the food was outstanding - we had to wait...

A lovely old coaching in with plenty of character, but a cared for modern touch. Good choice of beers to complement the excellent food available. Traditional pub food, but well presented and great flavours. Rooms have the quirks you'd expect of an old coaching inn. For the additional space a something a little special, seek out the Monarch room.
