I took my girlfriend here as a little getaway for her 21st birthday and we had a unforgettable experience that we are eager to repeat the second the opportunity presents itself. We stayed for three nights in one of the cleanest rooms I have ever had the pleasure of staying in and with a view that could inspire songs. Furthermore...

Was recently recommended Thornleigh Guest House for a two night stay and it very much lived up to our expectations. Spotlessly clean and nicely decorated throughout; a comfortable room with every facility; a variety of excellently prepared breakfasts and, also of great importance considerate and welcoming hosts. Claire and Dave have worked hard to establish this gem of a B and...

As always, Clare and David were very welcoming and keen to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. The rooms are spotlessly clean and every detail covered, including fresh milk if required. The breakfasts are beautifully cooked and there is plenty of choice. They try to ensure that everyone has a turn at the window table in the dining room,...

Our first visit to Thornleigh but it won't be our last. The location is excellent (as are the views of Skiddaw from our window), the hosts Clare and David so knowledgeable and helpful, and the bed one of the most comfortable we've come across in a guest house. A special mention for the details: David carrying the luggage upstairs and...

From booking to departure Clare and David were welcoming and helpful ensuring a restful, problem free stay. Every kindness was shown to us and every detail taken care of. Lovely beds, food and views. We have never before been shown the courtesy of our hosts loading our car and coming out to say goodbye. Want to say " go and...

Make the most from the walks and advice offered - it's all extremely worthwhile and exhilarating. Even if the weather is less than accommodating, take to the hilltops, mountain cairns; some of the climbs become dynamic in adverse conditions.

A lovely guest house that's less that a minutes walk from the main street. Clare and David were friendly throughout our stay and their knowledge of Keswick and the Lake District is amazing and really helpful for planning walking routes and activities. Breakfast was really yummy. We stayed in room five on the top floor which has amazing views and...

We came here for a mini break and found this little gem through booking.com. we were astounded by the friendliness of the hosts from the minute we got there. They helped us decide on our walks over our stay and even washed my partners trousers after he slipped down grisedale Pike. We were given fresh milk and thoroughly enjoyed our...
