We have been at The Brackenrigg with a large group of friends. The area is stunning, really quiet and in the night you can spend hours just staring at the stars. It is just 2 miles from Keswick and really close to the major attractions. We booked many rooms: families with kids stayed in the main house and some of...

Stayed a week in one of the studios in the barn, with stunning views from the large window to the hills opposite. Lovely birdlife and very friendly owner's dog, who met me every evening on my return to play ball! Would give this 5 stars but for the occasional noise from the upstairs apartment. I travel with ear plugs anyway...

We have stayed in the Sett for the past two years and we are due to arrive in a few weeks time for another stay. We have always found the accommodation clean, smart and spacious. The setting is tranquil, (apart from the odd RAF fast jet which we didn't mind!); and very scenic with views of Helvellyn and beyond. Set...

Having stayed here a few times over the last couple of years I can thoroughly recommend "Brackenrigg". The studio flat made a wonderful base when we came as a couple for a long weekend walking. Everything you need for a comfortable stay and a stunning view of the Helvellyn range out of the floor to ceiling window! We've since returned...

Our selection was based primarily on price then location and we struck gold on both counts. The price was half that we had recently paid for b&b in Lincolnshire and the view was a million times better. The location is easy to find, has plenty of parking and loads of extras if you need them. The main attraction for us...

Brackenrigg has become somewhere that my husband and I return to every year. I first stayed here in 1979 when it was a B&B and, now that we can stay in the excellently converted barn, I really look forward to being here and it's become a special place for me. Excellent hosts, excellent views and excellent location (for walking and...

Have just booked Brocklebeck for Christmas week - this will be our third Christmas break at Brackenrigg, and we've also stayed in other seasons; usually as a couple in Brocklebeck, with its delightful view out of the picture window, but also as a family unit upstairs in The Sett. Always had a warm welcome and found the properties comfortable, well...

We stayed in The Sett for a week and had a great time. Our forays to the wood late in the evenings gave us two sightings of the owl, the red deer was seen every night, woodpeckers red squirrels and various other birds were always on display. The Sett is an excellent base for walks from the door or for...

Very affable owner who met us on arrival. Beautifully positioned self catering apartment looking out upon Helvellyn provided the perfect scenic getaway. Thoroughly recommended to anyone wishing to find the perfect spot from which to explore the Lakes.

Our 2nd visit to The Sett at Brackenrigg was superb. The accommodation is ideal and the walking is fabulous, you don't need to use the car unless you chose to. We followed the walks listed in the cottage, but please be mindful if walking the so called lower option and up to the tea room that the onward walk involves...
