Is it so difficult to book a holiday for a family of 5. Children ages 13,11 and 8. We booked for a weeks DBB and were quoted £1100 which some vague mention of top and tailing beds. The following day a call received to say it was actually £1800 as the quote was not correct. There was still the concern...

My partner and I chose the Dinner, B&B option for 4 days (great value!) and were not disappointed. Great breakfast buffet, and the dinner chefs outdid themselves every night with interesting game and combinations. The room was very good (but the 3rd floor was quite hot due to exceptionally warm weather when we were there) and had everything we could...

Third visit to this hotel ....very enjoyable stay ...lots of money spent improving the downstairs bar area...well done a great improvement...rooms warm ..clean ..and comfortable ...the food although well served and presented lacked a certain amount of taste ...our party agreed it was not as good as last year.

We have been visiting this hotel for 15 years and there have been lots of improvements over that period but nothing quite as stunning as the latest makeover, particularly the very smart bar and lounge area. The food is delicious and the staff friendly and very professional. You are guaranteed a very relaxing stay and we cannot recommend it highly...

The rooms were clean and comfortable the food excellent and staff although young were unobtrusive and did their job very well. I would recommend this place to anyone. It was a short walk to Keswick town centre and on...

A very nice traditional hotel. We arrived for one nights stay on a very cold windy night. The bar/ lounge area look like they have recently been re decorated to a very high standard, beautiful furnishings which compliment the style and age of the building very well. It looks like the decorating is ongoing as decorator were in the room...

My husband treated me to a few days away as a surprise for my birthday. On arriving the hotel looked beautiful. The staff were welcoming and helpful. The rooms was amazing - large room with huge bed overlooking the landscape. We had a bowl of fruit with chocolate, wine and water when we arrived. Breakfast and evening dinner was beautiful....

A lovely historic hotel in a beautiful location. Close to Keswick center yet far enough away for peace & quiet. The staff are friendly & make you feel at home. We stayed in a 2nd floor en suite garden room which was clean, warm, cosy & quiet. It overlooked the grounds & with fantastic views of the surrounding fells and...

I almost don't want you to know about this hotel because I want to keep this all to myself. A well rounded old victorian gothic hotel with nicely hip new interiors. Restaurant menu changes every night and young happy staff are a delightfully charming. We stayed dinner, bed and breakfast and were delighted with our stay. Only lost a star because...
