Really nice communal area with a real fireplace, and free pool! We hardly spent time in the hostel, but it's a hugely welcoming place with large kitchen and very clean rooms. Loved it. Would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Had a great time in Kendal with friends. The hostel was very nice and relaxed. The staff were very helpful and welcoming and the room we stayed in was perfect for 5 people as well as being very clean and tidy!

The room as well as the facilities were tidy and the staff very friendly. They were happy to help with any questions and always up to a quick chat. We really enjoyed our stay in Kendal Hostel and would absolutely recommend staying there!

The hostel was great, right in the center of town, friendly staff, who helped us find parking, and comfortable downstairs area. The hostel is quite large with a shared kitchen and separate dining area. I'd recommend it to anyone staying in kendal.

My friend and I stayed here and can't say enough good things about the place! They're extremely accommodating, friendly, know so much about the local area and was just all around a great stay. She even did our laundry for a couple of extra pounds, which is amazing to have done when you're backpacking around. She also has the cutest...

I found this hostel very friendly and relaxed, it seemed to me that just one rule applied and that was being respectful (not a hard rule). The location is perfect for the town and the price the same. Would I stay again and recommend it to others, yes on both counts.

Visited and stayed in dorm rooms as part of a group. Based in the centre of Kendal with pay and display parking close-by. Everything you need on your doorstep. Rooms pleasant and colourful, we had a room on the roadside which we a little noisy at certain points. Beds were very comfy, I have slept in hotels at 5-10x the...

Jan and Chris were very welcoming and run a friendly and economical set-up, combining people on holiday and those struggling to find work and accommodation in Kendal. Tony who works on reception, was knowledgeable about the local area but the real stars were George and Maisie, helping to create a very homely atmosphere.

We were going to a gig at the Brewery Arts Centre which is right next door. So instead of driving 1.5 hours home afterwards, we booked into Kendal Hostel. It's warm, super friendly, clean, log burner, cat, dog, and we had a sole occupancy room (though we'd have been fine with dorm bunks if not available). A good night's sleep,...

The hostel is cosy and welcoming with the same woodburning stove as mine. The owner is friendly and informative. The location is great but if you come by car the one way system can be confusing. Overall it's a good place to stay.
