Our stay was wonderful, Wendy and Richard made us VERY welcome, the place is spotless, lovely rooms and all en suite. Comfy bed and a fabulous breakfast with a good menu choice. Short walk into the historic town of Kendal and very central to visit the hills and lakes of the area.

Stayed for the one night whilst on business in the town. Easy walk into the centre. Free on-street parking using permit provided. Much more pleasant stay than the over-priced hotels in the town. Reasonably priced and an immaculate house. Good wifi. Great breakfast. Will definitely use again. Thanks Richard, Ian

We selected Kendal as the ideal base for a brief tour of the Lake District, which proved a good choice. Past Trip Advisor reviews recommend Hillside Bed and Breakfast and all the praise is fully justified. Owners Richard and Susan were so helpful and friendly, making our stay a real homely pleasure. Their local knowledge was a great help in...

Spent 4 nights at Hillside and if I visit the Lake District again I will definitely return. Spotlessly clean, lovely room, plentiful breakfast with lots of choice. Richard was really helpful with information on places to visit, travel suggestions and so on. I was comfortable and happy staying there.

My wife and I spent three nights at Hillside and thoroughly enjoyed our time. The room and bathroom were spacious and clean. Richard was amazingly helpful about giving us tips about getting around town and the region. The breakfasts were very good, too: variety, plentiful, and tasty. There also was a cooling fan in the room. I would recommend Hillside...

Lovely very comfortable clean room, very central location, very pleasant and accomodating hosts and a fabulous breakfast. Richard allowed to retain the on street parking permit until late afternoon after we had checked out which was a very nice gesture as it saved us moving the car and having to pay for parking.

Hillside is up a steep hill, not a problem for us but might be for others. Richard very friendly and accommodating. Came and went as we pleased. Room very clean lovely view from window. Would recommend this hotel to friends as it's very close to the city centre.

A great place to stay in Kendal, just a short walk downhill to the centre of town. An immaculate guest house with parking permits available. Wendy cooks a fine breakfast which is served by Richard with a smile and a chat. If you are a single, ask for Room 1 which is large with spotless en-suite.

Richard and Wendy were more than helpful in every way possible. Richard suggested some great walking routes and even lent us his own walking maps. The rooms were exceptionally clean, the food was home cooked, the overall service was excellent. We will definitely stay there again. Thank you both for making our holiday even more enjoyable.
