Just stayed for a fabulous two night stay in Rothay Garden. The spa provided much needed relaxation after a day walking in the beautiful Lake District. Dinner was beautifully presented with lots of locally sourced produce. The lamb and beef were cooked to perfection. I have to mention the soufflés as my husband had three-a goats cheese one as a...

We have just returned from a three nights stay at this hotel and we were not disappointed. We were greeted by Stephanie and a colleague (who carried our bags to our room), lovely smooth check in and shown to our room. We stayed in the Butter Crag premier Loft Suite, which is situated on the second floor with a balcony...

Have stayed several times now and it just seems to get better with each visit, the staff are just so pleasant and helpful and make you feel at home and very welcome. The breakfast is to die for as is all meals, and the rooms are just what you would wish for.

This old hotel has been sympathetically modernised on the inside. The reception and waiting staff were friendly and efficient. Our room in the eaves was very comfortably furnished. Fresh coffee, biscuits, chocolates and good quality toiletries were all provided. Dinner was very nice - some wonderful Lakeland lamb. Though a few more vegetables would have been nice. Breakfast was also...

We love this place. This was our 4th visit and the Rothay Garden never disappoints. All of the rooms are decorated to a very high standard, comfortable with a luxurious feel. The staff are really friendly and can't do enough for you. They are used to walkers and don't turn their noses up at casual walking gear. The food is...

Stayed here for a two night stay. Langdale room nice with views of stream and hills. Staff throughout this hotel lovely and pleasant and nothing seems too much bother. Food very good. They even managed cold but dry weather which was very good for walking and taking in the fantastic scenery.

1st) the only coffee they offer you is instant NESCAFÉ! you have to go down the road to get an actual coffee! (that my generation call coffee anyway) I'm not at a travel lodge I'm paying £250 a night so I'm not being pernickety I'm being realistic in what should be on offer for that price. 2nd) I couldn't check...

We have stayed here twice before and keep coming back. This visit didn't go exactly as planned. I had broken my wrist the week before, my partner came down with the flu on the drive up. The staff were beyond wonderful. We ate in our room when we didn't feel up to going out. My partner then coughed himself into...
