Hotel is in a great position, in a lovely village. The hotel is adequate but very impersonal with not very friendly staff. Food is just ok and drinks are expensive. They allow dogs but if you take one it seems you get a room that has not been refurbished. The room was dated with a very cramped bathroom.

The recently refurbished superior room was excellent value, very spacious and comfortable. During our stay we didn't use the restaurant and only had one drink in the lounge. This was primarily due to the presence of dogs in the public areas. The only reference on the website to the hotel accommodating dogs is on the tariff page - which we...

We stopped in at the pub at the Inn while waiting for a downpour to subside. We had nachos and beer, which were both quite English. The pub is warm and friendly, but I wouldn't order the nachos again.

Short weekend stay in Grasmere with my partner and 14 month old son. We had a club room already booked as we wanted to leave the travel cot in the separate sitting room and shut the doors. On the first night at bedtime we realised when we wanted to shut the door... that there was no door!. Then the fire...

This is the third time I've stayed at The Inn and each time the service has been wonderful, although I did have to dig a bit to find which premium gin to buy as they have no standard gin and I can't try all of the premium gins on offer. Our room was spotless and, in fact, we had been...

We spent the first weekend in April at the Inn and it is a little gem. Lovely quirky furnishings, loads of areas to sit and a varied menu, what is not to like? To open the curtains and look out to hills in the morning was a pleasure (and I am already a country born girl). The gorgeous sunshine helped...

Beautifully decorated hotel - room was lovely with a great view. The content of breakfast was great however the staff running breakfast were terrible! Tables not cleared promptly, no body seemed to know what their role was - however like I said the food was delicious and presented beautifully so well done to the chef. The service of reception wasn't...

My wife and I recently stayed here. I contacted the hotel approximately two weeks prior to our stay requesting to upgrade our room to a club room (an extra £25 per night) as we were visiting for my birthday: for this I was told we would have a balcony, a living room / sitting area as well as bed and...
