The hotel was very comfortable... We stayed in two rooms 6 and 9. 6 faced the main road but Grasmere is so quiet in the evening / night you wouldn't know it. The view was of fields and the hills beyond. Bed very comfortable, shower lovely, rooms both had nice decor and plenty of room for clothes. Room 9 was...

We stayed here for Easter weekend and had a wonderful stay. The staff were friendly and made us feel very welcome, in particular the receptionists. We arrived to two bottles of water, shortbread and a small decanter of sherry - great touch. The full English breakfast was delicious (there could have been more beans however I'm sure they would oblige...

Stayed here for a few nights in April. If you like nouveau cuisine, please have an evening meal here and choose the tasting menu. Exquisite. Rooms have plenty of cupboard and drawer space and are very comfortable and often with lovely views. Beautiful garden and conservatory. Breakfast has plenty of choice, from usual cereals, fruit and toast to full English...

My husband and I stayed for one evening as a birthday treat and it was well worth it. The hotel staff were lovely and friendly. We had originally made the reservation a couple of months before but had to cancel last minute due to an emergency and the hotel were very accommodating allowing us to use our deposit when we...

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights in March and had dinner both nights. Upon arrival the reception staff were very friendly and we were offered fresh milk for the room. The room was spacious, clean and comfy. We did have to ask for a cafetiere of coffee, as we only had instant in the room, but this was...

I booked a two night stay for my parents as a 20th anniversary/birthday present and there were so many things which made it a perfect stay for them. I booked one of the double rooms with a balcony specifically for my parents as I knew they would like one. Upon arriving, they were told that there was some issue with...

Just returned home from a midweek, 2 night break in Grasmere. We have stayed in many hotels and cottage rentals in this area and I can honestly say this was the most relaxing visit we've had. The staff are super friendly- nothing was too much trouble for them. The room we had- room 10- was just beautiful. The views in...

From walking through the door you are made to feel so welcome at this brilliant family run hotel. We were in a room on the top floor which overlooked the fells through a huge window. The bed was very comfortable and there was plenty of wardrobe space and hangers. The bathroom had a powerful shower and large fluffy towels. On...

Stayed for two nights over last weekend. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. Our room was a little on the small side, but the bed was comfortable and a good nights sleep was had. The water pressure was really high which resulted in soaking everything in the bathroom when the shower was turned on!!! The hairdryer was the...

Just arrived back from the hotel and couldn't find fault , hotel staff were excellent and very friendly . Food is extremely remarkable can't wait to visit again . No one should take notice of the bad review and only take on board the good ones. The staff here are excellent at their jobs and couldn't do enough for you....
