Lovely hotel in an amazing location. There is NO pool – despite what the website says. Very nice rooms but way too hot with radiators which kept turning themselves back on. Large comfy beds and modern décor. Food really excellent in the restaurant, breakfast brilliant. Service friendly and efficient. Definitely worth a return visit. Thoroughly recommended but keep the windows...

Perfectly located on the edge of Grasmere, with great views in all directions. Well appointed rooms, ours wasn't large but more than sufficient for our needs, comfortable and quiet. The reception, bar and restaurant areas really are stunning - and benefit from those great views. Plenty of parking, the amenities of the village close at hand and some great walks...

This is our 4th visit here & it's our favourite. We like the rooms on the lodge as easy to come & go. Superior rooms are a must, fab bathrooms & large comfy bed. Breakfast is fantastic, best eggs benedict ever. Nothing better than sitting in the garden in the sunshine with one of their beautiful G & T's. Not...

After a disastrously bad dinner at Tweedies the night before, we decided to give the Grand at Grasmere a go. The two restaurants are a world apart. The Grand is far superior. For starter we both had the crab salad with avocado which was lovely. The only criticism I have is that it was a plate of delicious softness. The...

Called today for lunch and the food and service have been excellent. The interior has been completely modernised too and looks fantastic. Great views from the restaurant over to the lake and the chefs and staff have been so friendly! We will be back and hope to stay next time. Many thanks

We booked room 16 ('Fell View Room') & even though it was a small room with a double bed (prefer a king or queen) & an en-suite that requires updating, we still enjoyed our stay. The staff & management were superb, the reception, bar, lounge & restaurant areas are contemporary, recently refurbished & are immaculate. Our dining experience was very...

I stayed here last night for the first time since the improvements two years ago. Over the last 15 years or so I've stayed here three or four times, and I've always loved it, but now it's a seriously good hotel. Staff were great, room was lovely and the food was to die for ! I'll be back for sure,...

This is the second time we have visited this fabulous place for an evening meal while staying in Grasmere. Obviously we enjoyed the first visit or we would not have returned! The evening did not disapoint. A warm welcome and a great table over looking the fields full of lambs with the lake and hills as a backdrop in the...

We met a friend here for drinks and snacks Friday afternoon. After leaving behind Ambleside, busy and full of people and dogs, this seemed like a sea of tranquility. We sat in the lounge looking across lovely gardens whilst enjoying our drinks and the lovely surroundings inside the hotel. Whilst we found the drinks more Dubai prices than The Lakes...
