I stayed at the Waterhead Hotel with my boyfriend as a Christmas treat after purchasing a voucher from Travelzoo, and I'm so glad I chose here! We stayed in room 19, which is a huge en-suite with queen sized bed + bunk beds and a view over the mountains. The wifi is good in the public areas but we couldn't...

Booked this as a birthday treat..we arrived just after the floods in near by Ambleside but the hotel was business as usual.. Lovely Xmas tree in the lounge and nice comfy sofas but I think it missed a nice cosy fire. We brought our dog as the hotel said it was "Dog Friendly" but I felt it couldn't make up...

Just returned from a couple of days stay at Waterhead hotel Coniston. What a lovely relaxing place. Nice easy walk into the village and the staff were so welcoming and friendly. Our room was comfortable, the bed and pillows just right and all very clean. They are having some rooms refurbished but we didn't hear any noise. The food was...

This was our second visit to the Waterhead, having previously been 7 years ago. Weather typically bad, with Windermere ferry closed, involving journey extended via Ambleside and Hawkeshead, somewhat hairy with flooded country roads. However, all forgotten with the warm welcome, and even warmer atmosphere from this very comfortable hotel. Room was nicely adequate, and food, although somewhat adventurous at...

Just back from an overnight stay here. For anyone looking for relaxation and some peace and quiet I can recommend the Waterhead Hotel. It's in a beautiful location on the shores of Lake Coniston with a quiet path down to a jetty where you can pick up the gondola service around the lake. Look the other way and you have...

Been to Coniston plenty of times but never stayed here before now. The hotel wasn't bad at all. The room was a decent size, the bed was really comfortable. The 2 ladies that were on reception / in the bar were really pleasant as well. The breakfast was spot on, and the 2 staff waiting on in the breakfast room...

Fabulous location, grand old house ,a little tired but maintained. The room was clean and comfortable and sensibly had an extra heater which we used. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, service in the restaurant was particularly good and Lottie on the reception was a delight The only disappointment was the evening menu, It had very little variety,...
