Booked in for afternoon tea for 4 , we were apprehensive ,but proved to be unfounded , the Afternoon Tea was Excellent and we shall most certainly call again . The Hotel was very clean and comfortable but could do with an update ,few customers were in evidence on the afternoon we visited but as expected early in the year...

This hotel is in a lovely location and we were given a large room overlooking the lake. We had to wait ages to check in as the lovely lady was sorting out a radiator then later she served us in the bar! We had a £30 voucher for dinner on our Travelzoo deal but the menu choices were very poor...

Booked through travel zoo at a very reasonable rate, and on arrival we were given room 12. This was on the second floor ( no problem with that ) but was very small, had an awkward entry due to a sloping ceiling, the window was above normal height so difficult to see out, plus the double glazing was condensed up...

Excellent value , lovely dinner, staff very helpful in view of my current situation on crutches. Excellent choice at both breakfast and dinner, with good service and friendly smiling staff. Will definitely visit again.

Stayed at the Waterhead for two nights on b&b basis with a meal in the restaurant on the first night. The room was nice and the bathroom quite modern, although the hot water was little temperamental. Breakfast was very good however the star of the show was the meal in the restaurant which was exceptional and possibly the highlight of...

Been a few years since we've last visited, it's usually been full being the reason. Staying again we can see why. After a very long day in Grizedale it was a welcome delight to park up, check in, chat with familiar staff members, dump the bags and enjoy a welcome drink and natter in the bar with friends. (Being switched...

A great find! The staff were impeccable really really fantastic. In all our years of travelling they were the best staff we have ever encountered, we took Ill just after we arrived and we felt so cared for, they brought us our dinner in bed and were genuinely caring, we made a quick recovery to enjoy all three courses and...

Attention to detail. Friendly happy staff. High quality. Fabulous views. Footpath to the lake and cruises. Breakfast exemplary! My only gripe is my hate of showers over baths!!! I could not wait to get home for a shower.

We stayed 1 night at the Waterhead on 1st March, cold and wet outside but warm and cosy inside. A short walk from Coniston ( some great pubs and an interesting museum and stunning views ) and a short stroll through the ground to Coniston water. Our room had a magnificent view on Coniston old man ( snow covered)but one...

There was a mix up with our booking through Travel Zoo, the staff dealt perfectly with it and we were made to feel very welcome. Some rooms need a bit of an upgrade but that is part of the charm, there is so much history in that building. Room 3 had a stunning view and the hotel is situated on...
