We stayed here Friday to Monday, on a photography trip and also to meet friends. The hotel and the very friendly staff were faultless, especially Kane, who looked after us in the bar and at breakfast. Room was excellent and always clean and fresh throughout. Food is home made with breads and preserves being made in house. Breakfast is superb...

We only stayed for one night and the room was very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was brilliant! So much choice and I loved the homemade jam. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because I found the bed very springy and uncomfortable. Nevertheless I would stay here again if we come...

I stayed overnight in this very welcoming, traditional hotel. It is just off the main road through Cockermouth, so was very quiet. The room was extremely comfortable and had a large bathroom with a bath. I had a continental breakfast which was very good, and obviously had home-made bread and jams. I would certainly stay here again next time I...

I stayed here with my family for a long weekend for my brothers wedding in early June. I cannot fault a single aspect of the service. The room was huge, the food - especially the breakfast - was lovely (don't forget to ask for baked beans, they are available!) as the sausages and bacon were locally produced, in fact all...

We stayed at this hotel for a long weekend, Friday to Monday, as we were attending a 21st birthday party. The whole stay was wonderful. When we arrived we were shown to our room which was large and had all the amenities that you would expect in a hotel. The rooms were spotlessly clean. The bathroom. Had just a shower...

We went for a family meal. Adults and children. We arrived early and had a drink in the bar. We waited a while to be seated. Beautiful bread on the table. The food was top notch. Duck starter was really tasty as was the salmon. Lamb for main which was cooked perfectly. Roast potatoes also cooked lovely (and I am...

Just out of the centre of Cockermouth in a pleasant street not far from where I was working with pleasant staff and a clean and comfortable room. There are good restaurants in 5 minute walk of hotel as the hotel restaurant is closed on the Sunday night. The hotel is quite and is very comfortable.

A lovely period hotel in a quaint village. The staff were very helpful and accommodating, the food was good, and the beer was very tasty. The nightlife in the bar did get a little rowdy, but the staff dealt with it professionally and with tact. A good experience and one I would visit again.

Revel in Georgian splendour in this wonderful establishment. There is nothing to fault this place, it is centrally located, plenty of car parking space, rooms are comfortable, staff are friendly and amenable, food is excellent especially the warming Cumbrian breakfast. We really were sorry to leave.

When we drove into town this hotel caught my eye. I thought it would be out of our range. Through booking.com it came up with a mid-week special and we jumped at it. We were not disappointed. The room was a huge double, a bath!! with divine toiletries. The rooms were spotless. Our room had duel aspect and both windows...
