Our 3rd stay at this, excellent hotel in 18 months very safe Covid practices in place. We upgraded to an executive room, spacious with super king size bed, and large bathroom with powerful shower . Ecery member of staff we encountered were outstanding, particularly those in tbe restaurant who were friendly and professional. We ate evening meal there on eaxh of our 4 night stay , menu varied and intereating, all our meals exceptionally good, the fillet steak particularly so. Portion are enormous. The fukk Cumbria breajfast each norning was, akso very good, with top quality ingredients locatuonvery convenient for the Northern Lakes , will be returning for an autumn stay

Visited here with friends yesterday for afternoon tea, it was amazing! Lovely hotel, great staff, Covid safe and very clean. Nothing was to much trouble, the afternoon tea was probably one of the best we have ever had. Highly recommend and we will definitely return 😊

Lovely to be out for lunch with friends, finally! But it wasn't the best lunch out we've ever had (I really resent writing negative reviews post lockdown but I've tried to keep it fair) We hadn't booked a table on a Wednesday afternoon and we were turned away at the door, by a female member of staff. A friend said that was weird because she had seen loads of free table availability online so we booked one of those and a table was found for us when we had a reservation. So that was a bit bizarre. The food was okay, lots of choice and the desserts were lovely. I think my grandparents would like it there. We were just grateful to be out but the initial service wasn't the best, bordering on a bit rude. Our waiter was lovely though and very friendly.

We regularly stay over at The Trout with friends, we also visit often for lunch. The staff are wonderful, the rooms are lovely, the food is well cooked and presented. The only fault we found on this visit was that they have decided not to reinstate the dinner menu for the restaurant. So if you eat there during the day in your stay, you have to choose again from the same menu. The a’la carte menu was very special with wonderful food. It’s what you are looking for in an overnight stay. So please bring it back!

Booked a table for late afternoon on a Friday. It was busy but there was plenty of space between the tables and enough staff to look after everybody. It must be tough for the staff in the present climate but they all smiled and had a little chat with the customers. I chose the meze from the specials which was amazing. My friends had the salmon and the chicken & mushroom filo pie which they loved. Pud was sherry trifle and although not traditional was delicious. We were apprehensive as it was our 1st meal out since the reopening of outdoor dining but all the COVID arrangements were in place and working well. Look forward to returning when indoor dining opens. Thanks to all the staff who looked after us so well.
