Visited here on trip back to England in November. The only disappointing thing was that we could only stay for one night. Dan and Lisa were great hosts, brilliant evening meal in the Restaurant, followed by a drink by the open fire in the lounge. Great full English breakfast all with local produce. Brilliant quiet village location, but only 10...

I have been to Broughton Craggs Hotel many times and I will keep coming back. The rooms are very clean and the food is great. The family that run the hotel are incredibly helpful and the location is exceptional, located just between Workington and Cockermouth. If you are in the area try Broughton Craggs.

We stayed only one night, but wished it had been more. The building is large, spacious, elegant and very well cared for. On the ground floor there are rooms to relax by an open fire, watch TV, and enjoy a drink at the bar. Although the wifi is fast (15Mbps down, 4 up) our room (#11) was mostly outside the...

5* stay :-). Great family run hotel with warm welcome. Stayed in room 11 with outstanding views. Breakfast was plentiful with a mix of pastries, cereal, fruit, yoghurt followed by a full English breakfast. Presentation and quality of the food was really nice with a very hot plate (which is a rarity). Hotel is great location for cockermouth (10 mins...

Great value for money. Place is a little dated but it is comfortable. We did not eat there so can't comment on the food quality, but the menu appeared to cater for most tastes. Great setting, just outside of the national park, but plenty close enough for the north-west lakes.
