We have stayed here before when this little gem was Lakes Lodge. Having only just finished the refurb at the end of Jan we were possibly the first to stay in our newly made over room. The reason for our second visit was the same as our first - a birthday treat from my wife.

We had stayed in the Daffodil Hotel and Spa the previous night and decided last minute to stay another night, we found a place and decided to book it but cause I’m a girl I took ‘too long’ to decide and while it processed it got booked by someone else, so I felt awful and

I stayed her one night with a friend and we were extremely impressed. Very central location, lovely staff, spacious and comfortable room, and they even put on a vegan breakfast for me which was actually very nice. Very highly recommend.

First visit to the Townhouse but have been to Lakes Lodge since it opened. Was always excellent and is still our Ambleside favourite. Facilities excellent, location excellent, staff excellent - we always are made to feel at home.

I stayed there with my Labrador. They are all set up for dogs. She had to be in the car during breakfast but that seems reasonable to me. Have to say Ambleside itself seemed to love dogs!

Hi Sara It is a lovely area to stay. Short walk along from Lakes Lodge to Ambleside shops, plenty of places to eat out. Several pubs and inns nearby. We stayed a few days and went on the boat cruise on Windermere, there are several trips to choose from, short or longer ones- we enjoyed this and stopped off at Bowness on Windermere for a coffee. The pier is also a fairly short walk from Lakes Lodge,,they also have discount tickets for the boat. There are lots of places to visit nearby, depending on what interests they have. Staff are only too ready to help and there are leaflets to read. We also went for the day to Kendall which was lovely some quaint shops with a choice of places to eat. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed it.

"The basement room is my favourite so far but I think Room 4 was good too. This time we had room 8, top floor, smaller shower"
