We came for 3 days with our 4 children. On arrival there was a terrible smell in the house that was worse upstairs, the living area. We had to keep our bedroom door closed as it didn't smell in there! We had all the windows open and lit scented candles, which we had to go and buy. We phoned to...

We booked our second stay at the Langdale and visited earlier this month. We had booked one of the signature rooms on a £99 per night rate in their New Year sale. We had also stayed in a signature room during our previous visit 2.5 years ago. I don't know if our standard in hotels has just gone up but...

We stayed in the waterfall room for 2 nights and had a lovely stay. Rooms were comfortable, clean and had a balcony overlooking a beautiful river. Food in the Stove restaurant was great and service (from Emma in particular) was outstanding! I also enjoyed the Brimstone Spa's thermal experience, although some of the saunas and steam rooms were a little...

We stayed in a cosy signature room which was lovely and enjoyed the leisure facilities and the brimstone spa. Food from the restaurant was tasty, however our meal at the Wainwright Pub left a lot to be desired. The hotel sits in a stunning location with footpaths running all around the site. Everywhere was immaculately clean. The staff were friendly...

I wouldn't stay here if it was the last place on Earth. Room was substandard. Breakfast was like being at a school canteen. Unhelpful staff, had a dirty table. Couldn't wait to get out of there. I couldn't see how we paid so much. A complete waste of money

Lovely looking facilities, but swimming pool and whole leisure area is slightly nightmarish. The rules are 15 and over for the jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. This is completely ignored and instead the jacuzzi is overrun with toddlers hurling themselves around. Sauna with young children either complaining they are too hot or running in and out and leaving the door...

I love Langdale and the area but they put me in a something akin to a motel room with no view, no charm and it was cold. I complained and was told that's what village hotel means. I was offered an upgrade for an extra £30 per night making a total of £168 for each night, that's alot but the...

Our room condition: Good - lots of space, comfortable bed. We didn't have any breathtaking views where we were sleeping but we only stayed for one night. Leisure facilities: Excellent, plenty of things to do if you're staying for a few days - for improvement I'd recommend putting more hairdryers in the ladies changing room. Food: Excellent, we will definitely...

We go to this venue every year and they have now finished major refurbishments to the restaurant area. It works very well and the quality of work is fantastic. Whether you stay in the Hotel or Lodges, you wont be disappointed. There is also a new boutique style hotel (Brimstone) with luxury rooms on site. Also, Wainwrights pub just off...

First visit to this Hotel and Spa. Stayed in room 105 ultimate room. The estate is very well maintained with choices of hotel rooms and lodges. The room we had was very impressive with twin baths, fantastic sized bed, lovely en suite shower room and a sitting area. We had a wonderful evening meal in the Wine Room and the...
