Popped in to watch the football whilst on holiday with my son. After reading some of the reviews I didn't expect much however I was very pleasantly supprised. Staff were great food was spot on and we ended up spending most of our evenings there.

Our little family ate here recently and I can only say how pleasantly surprised we were. From the outside it seemed like your average 'football' pub and whilst there was football on and some of the punters were a little less than savoury we found a quiet table near to the b'n'b entrance. I had the vegan curry, my husband...

Stopped here with 2 friends as the base for walking in the central fells - having stayed here previously a couple of years ago. For what we wanted - a bed, shower, and a few local options to get food and drink this suited our needs nicely. The room was clean and functional but needed some basic repair and maintenance...

Very warm welcome, lovely rooms, clean and spacious. Only downside was when I wanted an early morning run and couldn't get out as it was through the bar. Full English Breakfast was tasty and served efficiently. In the heart of Ambleside, it's ideally situated for shops, walks and restaurants. Well worth a visit!

Came in for tea on a rainy night when the football was on... found ourselves a quiet corner in the restaurant area. Ordered food & drinks at the bar - decent drinks, VERY nice food (I had a burger, my husband had the steak & ale pie) which we didn't have to wait long for, and pleasent staff. Cheers guys...

Nice hotel, good staff, service bar open until late for 🍹 drinks. Have a pool table for relaxing 😎 the breakfast 🍳 also served quite good. They have special karaoke night and raffles to make it interesting for the locals and the guest.

A quick night away in the middle of Feb half term. Staff very friendly on arrival, rooms well sized and comfortable. Decent value for a very central location. Good nights sleep and a decent sized breakfast in the morning. Worth a visit and we will be back again.

The staff was very rude but i guess that is because the owners cant be bothered to do any work but like to stand in the bar getting drunk whilst leaving the running of the bar and hotel to there young children who have no experience in hospitality. I feel for the staff that are not part of the family

I booked this as a last minute bed and breakfast, afterwards we read some of the other reviews and began to worry-absolutely no need. This is one of the nicest, comfortable and friendly hotels I have ever had the pleasure to stay in. The room was large with a lovely clean and stylish en suite. The bed is comfortable and...
