I adore staying at Nab cottage, it is a peaceful, inviting sanctuary - Tim, Liz and the staff are always generous and attentive and ready to help with any requests. The building is a treasure trove and the rooms are cosy and clean. The food is healthy and I love the hearty breakfasts. I will be back, again and again!...

Nab Cottage stayed up to its photos shown and more! Our group was there for 9 days for a workshop and we were spoilt by the attention, the food and the service!! Tim and Liz have made it such an eclectic and warm lodging that the whole cottage feels like home! Their helps who serviced the lunches and dinners were...

I really loved my stay in Nab Cottage, the staff and owners were very nice, the food prepared for us was very tasty and was always different through my 10 day stay we were never served the same dish ( had lunch and dinner daily), their deserts are great too. I had opted for a room without the bathroom and...

I first came to this venue when I was pregnant, and have been every year since, initially with my family, and then running retreats for Women that past two years. I love the food, the hot tub looking out over the Lake and the feel of the old building. I especially love the hosts, Tim and Liz, who have been...

This is a beautiful old fashioned building with many original features (and very loud, squeaky floorboards). My room was a twin and didn't have an ensuite. I didn't have a lock available on the door either which was quite disconcerting for a lone traveller. The bed was comfy with basic facilities. I'd question whether the room had been cleaned between...

Lots of positives. Great location, close to beautiful walks, many rooms overlook the Lake, but the road is fast moving and very busy and it's right on a bend, so getting in or out and crossing feels a bit scary. The young staff were really just kids and did their best. The owners were pleasant, but didn't like being asked...

This is a beautiful cottage we went for a short weekend. Lovely helpful owners. Amazing location near lake side and value for money. Had a memorable time staying there. Very clean and homely environment. Would definitely recommend.

Warm and nice place. We love stay near the firewood. The food is really good and delicious, but not expensive, through we cannot order from menu, the lunch and dinner full of surprise, moreover, very suitable for vegetarian. The hospitality service even made me feel comfortable.

Nab cottage transports you to the essence of the Lake District. 1702 cottage opposite Rydal Water - alone in this location. Offstreet parking, excellent breakfast in 2 cute dining rooms. Cosy sitting room with a fire, coffee and cookies. Even the opium room is preserved as a bit of a bygone resident's retreat from the world. Walk to pub down...

“Whilst in a beautiful location, the cottage is on a road, so rooms at the front will inevitably be noisier than those at the back - but then the rooms at the front have spectacular views of the lake ..... take your choice!”

“Front if the house has views overlooking Rydal water, but traffic from road. Back of the house has views of hillside and sheep and quiet. Some en suite rooms, some shared bathroom.”
