A clean and pleasant lodge, fantastic breakfast, wonderful staff and comfortable beds. But all this is minor compared to view of the cathedral outside your window. The price is very reasonable when you consider the large breakfast included as well as free entrance to cathedral and parking onsite. It was so convenient to be located centrally and have easy walking... More

On arriving at my room ( on a very cold day), I found the heating had been turned off, so the room more resembled a fridge that a welcoming home from home. The room itself was small with only a shower (no bath), and a damp smell to it. There were no towels in the room, which I had to go... More

Arrived at Canterbury West rail station in pouring rain and was a little unsure of how to reach hotel. But followed signs to cathedral which I found without problem. Hotel is within the cathedral close so it wasn't simple to find, but what an experience when first within the ancient walls. The lodge itself is fairly recent, and rooms nice... More

This hotel is in the Cathedral grounds and has wonderful views of the Cathedral. The rooms are small but clean, well decorated. Our room 107, looked out over a little garden. The staff were friendly and breakfast good. Entrance to the cathedral was included. We also went to sung evensong which was a great experience - music in a wonderful... More

As a couple we stayed in this lodge the weekend of 21/22 November 2016. We had room 204 on the first floor which afforded us a panoramic view of the cathedral which was particularly spectacular by night.Note however, the view is partly obscured by the roof of the entrance to the lodge.Car parking is within the cathedral grounds and adjacent... This hotel delivers everything you'd expect from a good mid priced hotel - functional clean rooms, good breakfast and friendly staff. But it offers so much more. Being part of the Cathedral Close is such a bonus and not just because of the fantastic view. We popped across to the cathedral for three services during our two night stay (all... More

The lodge is a wonderful place from which to explore Canterbury. A bonus is, it's free to visit the Cathedral as you are in the grounds.
