This hotel was just right for our family gathering. Staff couldn't have been more welcoming. Breakfasts were delicious and plentiful. It is a cosy and unpretentious place, right in the beating heart of the old city and we could practically touch the cathedral from our little room, 'Joy'. If it's modern formulaic luxury you need, choose elsewhere...likewise if you have...

I've stayed at the Canterbury before and it's a lovely hotel. Some rooms overlooking the square below or the Catherdral, what more could you ask for? Rooms have been redecorated and are lovely throughout the hotel. Very comfortable and clean, just want you need for an overnights stay. Our room was quite small, however, very nice and had all the...

I came here for a one night stay. Everything was perfect. The views are amazing. Zakk in particular was very helpful, the staircases were very narrow and he was happy to carry them for me and also store them for me for later pick up. I have no qualms

A quirky hotel, beams, uneven floors, in keeping with age of building. Found a beautiful view from the small roof terrace, felt as though you could reach out and touch the Cathedral. Stayed for night before my daughter's graduation, very welcoming and helpful staff. location for accessing correct area of Cathedral could not have been better. Beautiful views all around,...

Excellent location - right in the wall of the cathedral close. Next to a huge stone gateway into the close. Easy walking distance to Canterbury East train station and all the sights of the lovely city. Clean rooms, fantastic breakfast, wi-fi fine, TV in room fine, lots of hot water, friendly, efficient staff and owners. Will return.

What a great little hotel. I spent one night here, to stay over after visiting the Marlowe theatre. The room was small but adequate and comfy. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very enjoyable with ample choice on offer. The hotel has lots of sloping rooms which add to it's quaintness. But the most brilliant thing,...

We had lovely rooms and the location is excellent but above all the service was exemplary. We were a bit hungover in the morning and the owner really looked after us and fed us well. Highly recommended.

Hotel was right in the middle of the city with a clear view of the cathedral from the window. Clean and comfortable and helpful staff. Definitely would recommend it. If you are driving to the hotel you can access it from the ring road A28 and turn into Burgate from that end, drive up to the hotel, drop off your...

My boyfriend and I stayed in a beautiful room called Joy. It has a spectacular view of the Cathedral and I loved the old style furniture. The room smelt fresh when I entered and was very clean. The bathroom is small and the bathtub did not have a shower attached, however I was told about this when I booked the...
