We stayed in fantastic room, it had a lovely view of the Cathedral. Our own shower and toilet and a four poster bed. It was very private, cosy and comfortable. If your looking for a modern hotel with characterless rooms this isn't it. Expect unique and quirky with friendly and very helpful staff (I can't say that enough praise for...

Stayed here for two nights and the place has its own unique charm. Its in a great location to see everything in Canterbury and of course, the cathedral is right on your door step. We really loved our room, it was a good size and we got fresh towels on both nights. Also got breakfast to the room - no...

Guys this place is a solid 5*. Our room (Nightingale) had a view of the Cathedral and it was stunning, also rocking a 4 poster bed which was a welcome surprise. The breakfast is continental and included in the price. Tho for a small surcharge you can have a full English and even get it brought to your room. Thank...

Booked two nights at the hotel for New Year. The set up of the hotel is very strange with the hotel mainly being on the first floor across several neighbouring shops. I had requested a view of the Cathedral but unfortunately ended up with a room overlooking some shops at the front. I wasn't aware of the hotel layout including...

The Cathedral Gate hotel is not only easy to find - it cannot be missed - but also a memorable and historic place in which to stay. The oddly laid out hotel is several hundred years old, as the sloping floors and jumbled layout so aptly attest. Our room was comfortable, simply furnished and cosily warm despite the driving rain...

It was a lovely two-night stay. We felt really welcome and enjoyed impromptu new year's drinks offered by friendly staff when we were back from the new year's eve celebration. The views of the cathedral from our room as well as a cosy lounge were superb. The room and facilities were very clean. All what you need for a short...

The hotel is in a great location, right next to the cathedral and in amoungst the shops, the staff are really friendly and helpful and our room and en-suite were clean. Now, if you are bothered by noise don't stay as i said this hotel is in the centre of town and it is old, noise travels here and while...

We enjoyed our stay at the Cathedral Gate Hotel which is perfectly located in the centre of Canterbury adjacent to the Cathedral. The lovely building is several hundred years old and full of character. The layout is quite quirky - a bit of a labyrinth. The rooms are all different so do speak to the hotel about any requirements. The...

Although it is a very old building we were very impressed. Some amenities were missing but they did not have a negative impact. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and quiet. They gave us a preferred room which appreciated. Given the location and age it was just fine with no negative aspects. Continental breakfast was good and...
