Stayed here last weekend in the stables. Very comfy bed , loved the underfloor heating in the bathroom. Very friendly staff, loved the honesty bar such a good idea. Great breakfast in the morning with plenty of choice. The only thing I have to complain about is not being able to stay another night !! Will return when we visit Canterbury...

INNKEEPER’S FAVOURITE REVIEW

It takes a lot for me to give a five star review but House of Agnes hit every nail on the head so it's only right that I give them that feedback. Firstly, I chose them based on TripAdvisor reviews and I wasn't disappointed. From the efficient correspondence in the booking process and then the warm and friendly greeting on...

I had high hopes for the House of Agnes after reading the extremely positive reviews here on TripAdvisor. There is, indeed, a lot to like: the building is of historic interest, dating back hundreds of years and with a reference in David Copperfield no less, and well located only a stone's throw outside of the West Gate and centre of...

Thank you for your review and I'm delighted you appreciated so much about the House of Agnes. The superking bed that you slept on is a superior 'zip & link' bed found in all quality hotels. It consists of two high quality bases that are securely tethered (Health & safety compliant of course!). The comfortable top-grade mattresses are then zipped...

I spent two nights in this charming historical place on the occasion of my uncle and aunt's golden anniversary. I have really fond memories of the place, the room, the dining room, the lounge area and the bar too. Sandie the manager and her team were just really friendly and professional. I loved being where one of my favourite writers,...

Thank you for your kind review. My team and I are delighted that you had a nice time here. Of course, we realise that this funny old house is not perfect for everyone but we do appreciate it when our guests enjoy its 'quirkiness' and of course its interesting history! We like to think that a stay here is much...

Booked a couple of days away for my husbands birthday. The house of Agnes was a bit tired, but it was quirky a nice old fashioned coaching station. The room was lovely we had a four poster bed which was very comfortable. The staff were excellent very helpful and friendly. Would recommend.

We are delighted that you enjoyed your time here. You stayed in the fabulous Canterbury room, full of ancient beams and wonky walls (and a view of the Westgate Towers and cathedral spires) Yes, at almost 600 years old the House of Agnes is constantly being massaged, preened and de-wrinkled.... happily she's still got plenty of good years ahead of...

I have stayed here 3 times now (Canterbury room, Mumbai room, and Marrakesh suite) and have really enjoyed it each time. The house and rooms are lovely and quirky - each room in the main house having its own theme, and the house having lots of history. The breakfasts are very satisfying and tasty and staff are all friendly and...

We stayed here for 6 nights. We were in Stable Room 3 which was in the garden area. We chose it because we didn't want stairs and like walk in showers. The room was modern, comfortable and well appointed. The food at breakfast was varied and plentiful. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Good location for seeing Canterbury.

My daughter and I stayed in the Paris Room that was lovingly decorated. My daughter declared the bed, the most comfortable bed she had ever slept in. The room was just large enough and the bathroom was extra large with a deep soaker tub and a separate shower. The room was quiet, we never heard our neighbours and weren't disturbed...

Was over here for the weekend with my father and mother. This place is full of charm and character (it's also approx 600 years old). I stayed at the Shanghai room and I loved it. The decoration was on point and the bed was delightfully comfortable. The bathroom was a bit small but didn't bother me at all. It also...

I found my quaint little B&B just outside the ancient city gates. The building is from the 15th century and my large room had exposed beams and was redolent of those old times whilst having all the modern amenities. It was right near the entrance to the old town and the River Stour. I can recommend a punt ride after...
