We went here for a friends wedding reception. The food was amazing, succulent, juicy and full of flavour. The chef has done himself proud. The price of drinks though, £2.50 for a coke though.... Can't comment on the price of food on the menu as it was part of the reception. If they were to reassess the price of drinks...

Best food of this trip and in the top ten of all our trips to the UK. In addition to the excellent food, the staff are some of the most friendly we have had anywhere. The pub itself is one of the oldest in the UK and claims to date to the 8th century. They are located just down the...

So, this pub gets so many guests you have to follow the system, but its worth it. All the food is tasty and great beers. Don't get upset by the staff, just calmly talk to them and they will tell you what to do, there is system that you need to follow and i never quite figure it out, maybe...

This is a lovely pub full of character and original features. It is located on a lovely setting at the edge of the park. Their staff is friendly and they serve thé best rare roast beef on a Sunday. Highly recommend.

Walked past here on exploring Veralanium Park and decided to pop in for lunch on the way back. Looks a bit tatty on the outside but the inside is lovely with different bar and seating areas on different levels. Extremely warm welcome by the publican who couldn't have been more helpful or friendlier. Excellent choice of ales and traditional English...

Visited yesterday it was busy with a lovely cozy feel. They say it's the oldest pub in the country. Not sure about that. The fire was burning creating a great atmosphere. Great beer and burgers. Staff very friendly. Will be back

For me I think the primary reason for me wanting to see this pub was that it is reportedly the oldest in England. I wasn't looking for dinner or snacks but just a couple of pints of beer in a place that has been around for nearly 900 years (the structure, at least). With that in mind, the place is...

Been here many many times. It's a great little place, great food and booze. Can be busy at times but if cozy and wonderful. If you can get a spot by the fire on a cold day and hanker down for a bit you won't be disappointed.

Claims to be England's oldest inn. A truly unique place - a framed print on the wall shows the floor plan and when each part was added (rather like that of a cathedral). Much more space inside than appears from the outside, with a very attractive main area and a fairly substantial ancillary room. There is also some outside seating....
