London hotels are seriously over-priced. Off-peak train return to St Albans is good value, and Ardmore is walkable from the station. Simple, clean rooms, albeit a tad dated. Good hearty breakfast. Would definitely stay again on a London night out. Bonus, if you have the time, St Albans is a great little town to explore and enjoy.

Stayed overnight, Check in went smooth and functional, the room was clean, the shower worked perfectly, tea and coffee etc available, I slept very well, and didnt notice any noise at all. Has a good amount of parking at the hotel and despite parking being an issue in St Albans ( as is the norm, nowadays) was able to find...

We stayed with other family members while in St Albans for a family party. The hotel did what we wanted from it, a comfortable bed and close enough to the city centre. The staff were helpful and friendly. The room was a little small and there was a slight issue with the shower tap dripping and soaking the bath mat....

I stayed here on business and was pleasantly surprised as I don't usually rate independent hotels. The rooms was so quaint and traditional, I agree this isn't to everyone's taste. If you like modern and contemporary this isn't it, but what Ardmore does have is a traditional old country house feel to it. So different and unique. From the moment...

We are regular visitors to Ardmore House for events, meals and sometimes just for a quick drink in the bar which is open to the general public. There is always a warm welcome and a relaxed atmosphere where you can sit and enjoy your surroundings. The menu choices are very good and the food fresh and of a high standard....

Cute little old fashioned guest house, but room was "very" cramped. One of the single beds was right up against a large wall heater. View outside the window was of the roof of the downstairs bar and was covered in cigarette butts. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was fine. Location was good. I would probably choose a different place next...

Would highly recommend! The service is fantastic. After ordering our first drinks the waiter never let us have empty glasses. He came over and asked us for new drinks throughout the night. Never had to go to the bar again. They escorted you into the lovely dinning room for our evening meal. Again the service brilliant. I would definitely return!!

Only stayed one night, room was very small for two people. Did not eat at the hotel, so not sure of the service. Gentleman at the main reception gave us a warm welcome. Unfortunately so far this has been the only hotel in our travels where we had not been able to recover an item that has been forgotten in...

We stayed in a family room for four - good value, but unsurprisingly quite limited for space. I wouldn't want to be that cramped for more than a night or two, but we were just down for the weekend. Friendly reception staff. Excellent cooked breakfast. Easy access to the town centre, 15 mins on foot to the Abbey

We stayed here for my birthday as we were seeing a show in st albans. It's very old fashioned and could definitely do with a bit if money spent on it. The chairs in the lounge had holes in then and the paintwork could do with a touch up. Our room was lovely if very tiny. The water is not...
