Thank you for taking the time to share your review. I am pleased to hear how much you enjoyed your time with us and that you found the team to be amazing. I am sorry to read about your disappointment regarding the price of our coffees. Please let me assure you that our coffee pricing is very much in line with our 5* competitors, whom when pricing their coffees take into consideration the bespoke china in which the beverage is being served, the home made cookies made by an onsite Pastry Chef and the beautifully manicured grounds, which all help create a memorable experience. I sincerely hope that we will have the opportunity to welcome you back again in the not too distant future and once again thank you for sharing your thoughts and kind compliments. Kind regards, James Webb Operations Manager.

Me and my boyfriend stayed in a junior suite for my birthday. The staff had kindly left a birthday card and some millionaire shortbread for our arrival. The room was exceptional! We stayed in ‘The Pine Room’ which was huge and had the most amazing bath. There was only one tiny

Are there multiple houses or are all rooms in one house?
It is one house with very sympathetic extensions. There are 9 rooms in the original house, however, most of the large suites are in the “Fishing Wing”, which is a walk away through a corridor that passes the “Stable Block”. The smallest rooms are in “Chudleigh Court”. You do not have to go outside for any of these, however, there are 4 rooms in the “Loggia”, which are a 10 metre walk outside the hotel reception entrance. Hope this is helpful. If you would like a specific room, please give the hotel reception or reservations team a call or email.

It is a typical bar menu with sandwiches, including a Club, plus light meals like salads but also a prawn linguini, a wagyu beef burger, fish and chips, duck leg..... sandwiches approx £8 and meals £15 to £20. The grounds are great for walking with dogs.

Hello George The official end to the South Downs Way is at the junction of Chesil Street and High Street in the centre of Winchester. This is approx. 3.5 miles from Lainston House. Depending upon your preferred mode of transport, the bus station is just on the north side of the High Street. There is a fairly regular service that stops at Sparsholt Turning, the stop at the end of Woodman Lane, which is approx. 0.5 miles from Lainston House. If you do take the bus or even walk from the centre of Winchester, you not only get to talk up the tree-lined drive but also you can walk the full length of this avenue: Woodman Lane bisects the original avenue and most people only walk down as far as the road. However on the other side of the road the avenue continues. Almost opposite the right turn off Woodman Lane into the approach road is a gap in the fence: if you go through that you can walk up to the very end of the avenue: there's a bench and you can sit and take in the full beauty of the location. Hope that's helpful.
