I stayed at the Regent Guest House for just one night prior to a cruise from Southampton and it was excellent. The room was very clean, quiet and spacious with all the facilities you need. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was delicious. Very highly recommended.
I have just stayed here for work. On a 3 day course just down the road. The staff have been so friendly/helpful and polite. The breakfast is exceptional. There is so much to chose from. The double room is a good size and it's so quiet. The ensuite shower and toilet is compact but very clean and modern. I can't rate this hotel any higher. Would return if I was back. Up this way.
This property is ideal for anyone visiting Southampton who is happy being a couple of miles out of the city centre. We stayed here to catch a cruise ship the following morning and it was perfect being a short 10 minute drive away from the docks. This guest house is run by very friendly owners one of which we met - Eva - who was lovely. What struck me and my girlfriend about this place was how unbelievably clean it was. The entire hotel is cleaned to a very high standard, and the rooms look lovely. They also do a smashing breakfast which was lovely with cereals, pastries, yoghurts and juices which you are free to help yourself to. Also lovely to have a big TV, desk and a proper bathroom in the room too (not just a shower). The only negatives were that me and my girlfriend both found the pillows quite hard and the bed not the most comfortable. The duvet was also quite stuffy and not very breathable. This is all something easily fixed, and we were able to sleep - it just wasn’t the most comfortable of beds. The bed was also very creaky on the slightest of movements and walls quite thin, but thankfully no other guests were particularly noisy, The guest house is not in the nicest of areas and parking is very tight in front of the building, but none of this is anything that could be changed and is to be expected I suppose being in the suburbs of a city. Despite the bed being not the most comfortable I would definitely stay here again if I needed to stay in Southampton again. Fab breakfast, ideal location, lovely staff and a very clean hotel.…
From the start this establishment ensured we would be looked after during our stay. They remained in contact before we arrived to make sure everything was ok or address concerns. The place has 6 parking spaces and there is easy free parking outside on the road. The property itself is lovely. The room was spacious with the bathroom also being spacious too with an amazing power shower. The place was lovely and warm, very clean and staff friendly too. Breakfast was lovely and big. This was a very well run guest house, and the owners and staff take a lot of pride in the work and customer satisfaction. A very professional setup and it was very impressive. A great 2 nights stay. Throughly recommend choosing this place than any other is Southampton, as I don’t think you can get much if any better.…
Booked 2 rooms for 2 nights as like to support smaller businesses, big mistake! One of our party had a small nose bleed in the night. Damage to the bedding. He just had the booking app invoice me additional £36 no communiation nothing. When i called him, He spoke to me like I was a naughty child. Kept talking over me and saying that all damage has to be paid for, yes I agree but think that was steep and deserved a converation. One of the rooms wasnt used for the second night, which wasnt taken into consideration or mentioned as he didnt have to pay for cleaning or 2 breakfasts! Save your money and go to the big brand hotels nearby. Cheaper and much nicer people I'm sure
Just spend a night at this lovely guest house. Immaculately clean, friendly welcoming staff, nothing was too much trouble and the full English breakfast was lovely. I would highly recommend a stay here if you need somewhere in Southampton
We suffered a very sudden family bereavement a week before the booking. I booked at non refundable rate admittedly, but the staff were unwilling to be flexible in cancelling or moving the date. At a very distressing time there was a complete lack of empathy or flexibility. I offered to pay a higher rate for any change to compensate for inconvenience at making amendments but they refused and simply pointed me back to the policy. It showed a distinct lack of care which was upsetting and while I understand the need to protect the business from time wasters, I was very earnest and polite and willing to pay more. This fell on deaf ears. I will never look to stay at the guest house again when I am in the area.
The guest house was really nice, very clean and pleasant rooms. The staff made us welcome and were friendly and helpful. Sadly we hadn't come for a short break but for our fifteen year old granddaughter to have an operation at Southampton General hospital. We chose the Regent as it was within walking distance of the hospital. At the time of booking we explained that my wife and daughter might get accommodation at the hospital hotel as they were sharing the care. As we had not had the hospital accommodation confirmed, I booked an extra night for them as I was returning home home the next day. Two hours later the hospital confirmed that they had a vacant room so I asked if I could cancel because I was not going to be staying. I was told I could not but to ask the manager in the morning. She also said no. Of course in relation to our granddaughter's health the money was not important, but we found the unsympathetic attitude upsetting at a time when we were extremely anxious about the outcome of the operation.…
Friendly & welcoming staff ✅ Immaculately clean ✅ Comfy bed ✅ Good shower ✅ Excellent quality breakfast ✅ Free parking ✅ Odours from breakfast stay in the hall and enter bathroom vents ❌ Value for money ✅ Would I return 💯% Thank you Regents team ! 👏🏽
The guest house was clinically clean, disinfectant and masks were provided in the room The room was quiet, large and comfortable, tea and coffee making facilities. Also cookies 😊 The breakfast was very delicious Parking available The welcoming message you receive after booking are too tough, I would say, after seeing the hammer from the parking, military stile: too long, capital letters, too much instructions and warnings. They made me feel uncomfortable but at our arrival we calm down. The owner is actually very warm and friendly The pillows and the bed were hard to me It would have another chair in the room
