We stayed here for 1 night after a day at poultons park (3 adults 1 child) checkin was smooth and staff friendly. Room was what we needed for 1 night stay. Just one thing to note - only 2 plug sockets (once unplugging the fan and kettle) so with 3 phones to charge this was a pain! Breakfast was good! Great selection. Would recommend to others as was a good price.
Room wasn't clean, dusty. However that aside Greg is always so cheerful and it makes for a pleasant one night stay before our cruise. We've stayed here before and it's always busy. Breakfast was a bit of a let down with compote frozen, so I made do with other options. This won't put us off as staff are all pleasant.
I wasn’t going to leave a review, but after our stay we received a parking fine of £100 due to the utter incompetence of the reception staff!! We stayed one night in the hotel with two young kids on a Sunday. The room we were allocated was dirty with crumbs on the floor, which clearly hasn’t been vacuumed. The sofa bed wasn’t set up and we had to ask for bedding and towels from the reception staff. The room was incredibly run down and both the double bed and sofa bed were very uncomfortable. The lady on reception behaved like she was doing us a favour sorting stuff out for us, which wasn’t very pleasant after an already long day. //The next day, the breakfast was OK and the morning staff were helpful.// We would’ve put this all behind us (never to stay in this hotel again though) but today we received a parking fine letter of £100 because the staff didn’t enter our car registration number into their system in time. So it seems our hotel stay is the unwelcome gift that keeps on giving… When phoning the hotel about the parking fine, the lady on the phone was very helpful and reassured us that they can quickly cancel the charges for us so that’s a positive. All in all, we DO NOT RECOMMEND this place at all!…
Wery warm welcome and honest talk about very little option to eat in the evening so take away accepted by hotel without any problem. Room very clean and tidy. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast very simple not too much choice but still ok. For one night sleep recomended.
I only stayed for one night Sunday to Monday, but found the hotel to be very reasonably priced and reasonably well equipped. The rooms are pretty basic but there is a kettle, opening windows and plenty of local restaurants within easy walking distance of the main building. The rooms were clean and there were plenty of staff making everyone feel welcome, breakfast was hot and tasty and is included in the price there was plenty of selection from cereal fresh fruit and hot cooked items. In terms of price average room rate is between 39 and £79 if you are travelling alone and don’t mind a single bed the twin bedded rooms with two single beds are a lot cheaper than the double rooms but they are exactly the same size to the same standard.
Very and friendly staff. The stay was pleasant with very nice breakfast and a very helpful staff specially Simmi. Would like to visit again and would recommend this hotel for stay. The place also has a good connectivity so working from the hotel is also smooth.
Clean room and bathroom, nice comfortable bed. Breakfast was mediocre and husband said the pint was the worst he had ever had ( not nucleated ), no fizz and rubbish glass. We have our own pub so we know how to serve a pint! The manager and all the staff absolutely did their best though, we were warmly welcomed by a chap presumably the manager, he worked tirelessly , you could see all the staff were stretched. We didn’t pay a lot though , it was what it was but we usually stay in Holiday Inn’s and this one sadly wasn’t great. Keep hold of the staff though, they do a thankless job.
Restaurant was closed only serving pizza, not really what we all wanted after a 6 hour journey to get here. Rooms are lovely if you like listening to the conversation of the people and their screaming kids in the adjacent room. I’ve stayed in dorms when back packing nicer than this. For the price I would avoid, very disappointing, staff insincere and false. I would never stay here again or recommend.
I have just stayed at the Holiday in as part of a Peppa pig offer. I thought this was the closest hotel but turns out the premier inn is much closer and nicer. The hotel was basic can’t really complain for the price. There was a stain in the bathroom sink and NO BATH, considering a lot of children where here no rooms has a bath just a shower which was frustrating. The food was beyond awful. After not being able to eat at other local pubs due to not booking we tried to have dinner a the hotel. The childrens food took over 40 minutes and not even they could eat it. The adults food was also 45 minutes (20 after ordering the kids) one meal was cancelled and the other was completely inedible, I ordered a chicken burger and asked to take it to the room but the chicken looked and tasted like it has been in the freezer for 8months defrosted and heated in the microwave. The chips were awful (I can handle cheap food this was just nasty). The breakfast unfortunately wasn’t much better the cereal left and awful taste in my mouth after one spoonful, the crossiants were just nasty. The hot food did seem ok but I don’t eat pork so didn’t try it. HOWEVER the staff were really friendly and helpful it’s just a shame the food was nasty.…
This hotel caters for men ,Stella on tap and chips with everything or curry. Bed adequate but not very comfortable. Room needed a deep clean especially sofa bed badly stained ,paint work in bathroom dirty. Staff are very pleasant.
