We all had a super time..the hotel rooms were excellent..very good breakfast and Dinner and the staff were all very cheerful and pleasant.,we will be back.to enjoyed our time with friends.,ideal stop over before or after a cruise
Ideal place to stay for pre/post cruise stopover. Friendly, efficient service from reception and the lady showing you to your seat at breakfast. The rooms are pretty basic but very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was fine, not amazing but certainly good enough. Would recommend and will be back.
We stayed here for two nights whilst we were visiting Peppa Pig World for our daughter’s birthday. Our room was on the sixth floor which came with a lovely sea view. The bathroom was very clean and we appreciated having access to a bath and a shower with great temperature and water pressure. The room itself was clean but it was a little tired in places and was missing a safe and fridge. The hotel is close to the Westquay shopping centre and the cruise terminal which is handy. It is also approximately 15 minutes walk to Southampton Central train station and about 20 minutes drive to Paultons Park. It’s situated in a busy traffic location but we weren’t disturbed by it and had quiet restful sleep. The breakfast staff were helpful and we enjoyed a great food selection every morning.…
I work for a large organisation as a trainer and we spend considerable time with our colleagues on the difference between good customer service and great customer service. The experience our group had from Norman will live long in the memory. The kind of memory you recall years later when people ask you about a time you had amazing service. All I can tell you is that anytime in the future we'll be looking for a Holiday Inn option if this is how they treat their customers. I leave reviews like this infrequently but couldn't not share our personal, warm and special (yeah special is the right term) experience with Norman and Holiday Inn. Great location for shopping in and around West Quay and/or if you are going on a cruise from Southampton, like we were. I can only hope your experience is as exceptional as ours.…
The staff here are great, great views over the water. Breakfast was very good, lots of guests stay here before cruising. Everyone was super helpful, glad we stayed here. The room was clean and well maintained. Very close to shops and in a nice area of Southampton
We were there for one night room 705 was stinky, smelly ,cold, dusty had to leave window open for few hour with 5 month old baby not good and very dry dirty mark beside phone table wall , crack wall which is very bad to see atleast they could sealed n painted , toilet basin was dirty tap n under the sink was dirty, lamp shade full of dust and bed was so dusty I had a 5 month baby dust flying around room was worst , only good thing was dinner was good but have to waited more than 30min for food order we order breakfast in room, breakfast was good but frozen fruits was outdated
The hotel was a short walk from the rail station and easy to find (taxis were available at the station if you prefer) Checking in went smoothly and the reception team were friendly and knowledgeable. My room on the third floor was clean and bright and my view took in some impressive cruise ships! My room was quiet and I didn’t get any disturbance from the working dock. I did not eat at the hotel but I did use the bar which had good service with reasonable prices. I walked to various points throughout the city, all of which were very manageable. I would be happy to stay again.
Great stay and Simmi in the Breakfast Resturant was most helpful as where all the staff. Good Value and a great location whilst we waited for our cruise ship. The reception staff also very helpful and the rooms are very clean.
Spent three nights in Southampton while waiting for our return to US. Hotel old and in need of updating. Booking site indicated laundry facilities and business office. No laundry and business office was a single nonworking desktop and printer. Cruise passengers arriving in morning amid check in chaos. Could have been managed much better. Cannot recommend.
We were told we could cancel this booking if unable to use the hotel, unfortunately we could not go on our cruise due to falling foul of the passport regulations brought in after leaving the EU. We tried to cancel the week before our arrival, the money had already been taken from our account, we were then told there are no cancellations for a cruise package. This really rubbed salt in our wounds. Not happy!
