Stayed for one night and was very happy. Location was great next to shopping Center and short walk to town Check in was quick and reception staff friendly. Room was clean bathroom with shower only with a few toiletries We had a room on the 5th floor at the back so was nice and quiet Breakfast was very good plenty of choices for everyone including Americans who were cruising. This hotel is ideal for the cruise terminal Checkout quick and easy paid 5£ for overnight parking a bargain Would definitely use this hotel again A couple of small negatives are it is difficult to get a table for breakfast when restaurant is busy they need to fit extra tables in dining area and also you needed to use your room key to operate the lift this was a bit hit and miss Nice stay well done Moxy 😎😎
Firstly I have to say I never got to actually stay at the hotel. I booked to come with my wife in April and paid in advance, I then contracted COVID and felt I shouldn’t come. I emailed the hotel before the date I was booked in to explain the situation (sent a photo of my positive result) and asked if we could in effect put the booking on hold and use it at a later point. I received no reply so sent another email chasing a reply and still received nothing. You would have thought that decent customer service would dictate a reply even if it was a ‘no’!! Puts you off a hotel when they can’t even bother to reply.
Great overnight visit before our cruise! The check in was simple and quick, front door to room within 10’mins. Room is fairly compact and basic (contemporary) but that’s the vibe they are going for. The staff were very helpful, did a ton of printing for us. We requested extra pillows and within 5 minutes they were at the door. Breakfast was decent with lots of options including GF which my partner was very happy about.. it’s a small win! Very limited on ‘patron’ parking spaces however west quay shopping centre offer 24hrs for a fiver! Will definitely be staying here again for our next cruise in October!
In mid March we stayed at the MOXY hotel I. Southampton. It was different. This will appeal to some, but it was not what we are used to at a Marriott. Let’s start with the positives. The location is great. It is across the street from the Westquay shopping center, a landmark in the city. It is convenient to the pier, which is good since we were taking a cruise. It is a short walk from the National Express bus station, which is a modern building. The staff at the hotel is very efficient, friendly and outgoing. You are offered a cocktail on arrival. They have a signature drink, in either an alcohol or non alcohol version. The hotel has it’s own dedicated parking. Now to the parts that didn’t agree with us. Although we might not like these details, others might be fine with it. The rooms are small. We chuckled our room seemed actually smaller than our standard cabin on the cruise ship we would be boarding. The room has no phone. There is no closet. There are no drawers. There is no safe. Fortunately there was a chair. There were no washcloths, but that could be a British thing. The room (and hotel) seems designed for the modern traveler who lives out of their suitcase, uses their smartphone exclusively and doesn’t unpack or store stuff. There hotel has it’s pluses, but it’s not what we were expecting.…
This is our second stay at the Moxy in Southampton and would highly recommend. Rooms are clean and have all the required basics (TV with Netfilx, USB points, powerful shower, soft towels and comfortable beds). The Lobby is part of the bar, with seating areas which can also be used to work from (if need be), there's charging points. The staff are friendly and attentive. The Moxy Hotel is next door to West Quay, what more could you ask for......
Amazing hotel, funky, trendy, spotless. Staff couldn't do enough. Rooms were classy and very comfy, we asked for additional pillows and within 5 mins they were there. Breakfast was lovely and plenty of choice. Would definitely stay again. Highly recommended
Amazing stay. Great bar food , lovely staff. Staff were so helpful. We were able to leave luggage even after check out as transfer was delayed. Bar food was good and reasonable priced. A good breakfast buffet style. Near by restaurant hub as well with a choose of about 8 places to eat. Coop round corner too
Unexpected Great Stay and Fabulous Staff - we stayed here for 5 nights awaiting the return of our Yacht. The hotel is really clean, the rooms regularly serviced, functional, lovely new white towels. Central location. Could not have asked for anything more - great value for money
I am originally from Southampton and travel back often to watch Southampton play. The hotel is pretty new and attached to the West Quay Shopping and dining complex. Meaning there are plenty of pubs and restaurants within a few minutes walk. It. is also convenient for a lot of the city's historic walls and museums. Southampton station is a 5-minute walk away as are the ferries to the Isle of Wight. The hotel has a pleasant bar and offers a buffet breakfast for an additional £10. Although the cooked breakfast options get a bit dry as they are kept warm under lights. There is parking on-site for £5 per and if this is full there is a large multi-story car park next door which also charges £5 overnight All in all a pretty good base in the centre of Southampton
I feel compelled to write this review as I drove to Southampton, experiencing some trepidation. My assistant made this booking and I read reviews on the day of travel and had an alternative on standby. Primarily, I had five cases of technical resources and paperwork. On arrival, I asked to see the room before check-in. Contrary to some reviews, the rooms are perfectly sized. The lighting and décor is perfect, the claims regarding lack of desk space for business users is nonsense. The ledge which holds the Kettle was adequate to hold my scanner and laptop, and the soft stool provided adequate seating. This is a pleasantly quirky hotel with modern rooms and décor reception. The staff, in particular Yanis, were polite and accommodating. Obviously, in a University City, you will have some part-time staff who are students whose sole focus is their pay packet. However, it does not detract from the overall experience. I always bring my mug and teaspoons when travelling, so the paper cups and wooden stirrers are of no consequence. Given the proximity to the Town Centre and Car parking at five pounds a day. This location represents excellent value for money.…
